If I was Obama, I would be on the phone right now,
offering Bill Richardson the VP slot for his endorsement.

Not many Latino primary votes left.

And Richardson is a pain in the neck - ask Billary.

3. Yes, but New Mexico isn't part of it.
And neither hell nor high water will put Texas in the Democratic column. I live here. I know these looneys. We'll lose Texas.

4. I'm talking about winning a primary election.
I used to live in Ft. Worth. And, my bet is the "loonies" down there don't like John McCain. Texas has been known to go Democratic. Perhaps Obama could pick a running mate from Texas?

7. I wish the loons could be counted on to bolt or stay home cause of McCain, but...
I just don't see how they'll stomach allowing Clinton for president and not figure it's best to have half a loaf like McCain--especially after October when he starts patching fences with the far right and gets "enthusiastic" endorsements from Limbaugh, the Bushes, Ann Coulter, Sean Hannity, and all the other usual Foxmob because "We can work with McCain, but we can't afford four years of extreme socialistic liberalism from Hillary."

Texas last went Democratic in 1976. We can make it close enough for them to divert resources here in the fall--in fact we must do that to win. But there's no way in hell Clinton or Obama can carry Texas this year.

5. I would think he would gain more votes by trying to get Edwards. nt

6. Maybe...Obama needs more Latino votes
I presume Richardson would help in this regard and Richardson provides Hillary-like experience points. I had heard that Richardson was waiting until after Super Duper Tuesday to endorse. If he endorses Clinton, after Bill's arm twisting at the Super Bowl, he's not Obama's VP.
