FReep at work talking about how they are "screwn" |
|
Rather funny conversation overheard. Whining about how if Obama and or Hillary win the primaries and get a decent VP that they will have to sit the next 8 years through "socialized medicine." (I had no idea either Obama or Hillary had Socialized medicine on the radar...idiots...)
Unless of course the "religion of peace" attacks in those 8 years (As he put it.)
Jesus what a bunch of paranoid bastards... How does one get this way?
I thought I'd share...it's funny how they whine...let them bitch. Paranoid bastards will burn themselves out.

would only improve their lives and the lives of those around them. But, because a Democrat would make it happen, they want nothing to do with it.
Except, if we were to actually see a one payer system, I am certain that they would be at the front of the line demanding their health issues addressed, through that same system.

5. They act as though it's completely archaic and backward. |
|
As though the rest of the goddamn world isn't doing it...SUCCESSFULLY! and that our system is a raging success.
They'd be at the front of the lines alright...bitching about it all the way and getting better service then they'd had in years...

3. I heard some wacko last night in the grocery store |
|
talking (loudly) about how Hillary wants to give everything to "the gays", and how "that's not in the Bible. Tell me where that is in the Bible." He happened to mention Hillary, but he actually said (again very loudly) that he wasn't happy with ANY of the candidates from either party and that he might not vote because of it which would obviously be a great tragedy for our democracy.
And btw, I'm in NC, but this guy is from NJ originally - I had some dealings with him long ago where I used to work. Just felt the need to throw that in. ;)

It's really funny how the Pub candidates are split perfectly on the basis of how they attract their voting base.
McCain: Tough guy 2nd amendment types who hate islam and immigrants in general (and couldn't learn a second language if they were dropped face first in the heart of Bolivia.) Romney: The "economic types" who seem to still think Reaganomics worked...oh yeah...and Utah. Huckabee: the religious nuts. Paul: Apeshit anti-semites and homophobes who happen to not like the war from what I've seen.

...any of them finds themselves out of work in the next 8 years, or in a small business that doesn't have group health coverage, and for chance President Clinton/Obama does enact some sort of universal health coverage, they won't be complaining the next time they visit the doctors.
That people could be so blind against their own best interests amazes me.

Deep down, they know McCain can pull some gullible, Hillary-hating Dems to vote for him and they have an excellent chance of reclaiming the White House. All he needs as a more right-wing VP, like Huckabee or Romney, and he has the Repugs sewn up. Unlike us Dems, they stick together when it's crunch time.
We could learn from them.

I'm sure the rich repub bastard laughs at all the working class people who's lives are made miserable by his lying propaganda.

17. Ohh yeah.. a good republican friend/co-worker of mine said this: |
|
I hate McCain. I'll vote for him, but I hate him. I have resigned myself to the thought of a democrat being president for the next 4 years.. after all, it takes a Carter to get a Reagan".
I still love her, but we do NOT see eye to eye on politics at all. I am trying to convince her to see Obama speak here (Omaha, NE) on Thursday.. she's thinking about it. I don't think for a second it would change her vote, but it will be interesting to see what she thinks of him in person.

20. Ask if he has a problem with socialized police departments. |
|
Or socialized fire departments. Or schools. Or busses. Or street workers. Or utilities. Or city governments. Or Social Security. Matter of fact, tell him to stop paying taxes completely, lest he wants to be deemed a "Soshulist!"
He pays taxes. He gets services. With health care, it would be the same thing. Same-same. I'm really failing to see the problem. Rest of the world is doing it rather well. Why can't we?
Oh, that's right. Because he was always taught that "'Murka's Nummer 1!", "We're Always RIGHT!" and "we're the envy of ALL furr'ners!"
Never mind the fact that our native language happens to be English is a complete accident of history, not our birthright.
Never mind the fact that the Europeans he laughs at contributed in some way to the development OF this country; two glaring examples being the Statue Of Liberty and the design of our own Nation's Capital.
I think what it all boils down to is "white male right"; i.e. "he ain't payin' fer no 'welfare queen's' nine crack babies' health care!" Seriously; you ask white Republican males why they oppose universal health care, and they'll generally give you an answer along these lines. But he sure has no problem paying for police to lock up someone worse off than he is.
Republicans suck on so many levels.
