How are the 2 candidates finances doing?
I've read in numerous posts that Hillary is in a financial hole, while Barack is flush with cash. Does anyone have any information? I've checked opensecrets and the FEC to no avail. Is this just a baseless rumour, or is there some truth to it? Thanks!

1. Hillary is low on primary cash. Obama is not
now the fun begins

There's a difference between what you have on hand and what you can use in the primaries depending on the nature of the donation. Of the $ on hand Hillary has more of the not usable in a primary funds, Obama has more "usable in a primary" funds.

And the upcoming races loom large.

2. Do you have a source ?
Not that I don't trust you, it's just that I'm kind of funny that way.

3. Someone was speculating that the Clinton's are using their
own money.

If this is true, we need to start looking at Bill's speaking engagements.

In retrospect, aren't "speaking fees" a great way to get around campaign finance laws?

He has raked in a ton of foreign $ that way.

4. I guess it's legal, if unethical
If that's the case, then all of the rumours of cash shortage in the Clinton campaign are baseless.

5. there's a post over at Openleft.com
it's speculation at this point but The Clinton camp has been asked and they haven't denied they've dipped into their own pockets.
the fact is more of their money has come from big donors and they're tapped out so it's quite possible they need some cash.

6. Wow, very interesting analysys
Thanks for the link. So, of course it's speculation, but if the growing perception is that Hillary lacks grassroots support, she could be hurt by that.
