List of accomplishments for Hillary and Obama comparison - This is to set the record straight...
Since Hillary has said she has 35 years of accomplishments and ties this to Bill's tail - let's take a look at what they have accomplished:

NAFTA, CAFTA, Communications Bill of 1996 Act, and outsourcing money to India -

Voting for the Iraq War to invade - not to help protect the troops after they are all ready there -

And not least: Her vote of the so-called "Lieberman-Kyl" resolution on Iran.

Now for Obama's accomplishments:

Obama, Schiff Provision to Create Nuclear Threat Reduction Plan Approved

Obama Introduces Bill To Prevent Veterans Homelessness

Obama Demands Answers on Blackwater Immunity Deal

Obama Joins Senators to Introduce Legislation to Prohibit Industry-Funded Travel for Federal Regulators

And finally and not least of these:

Ethics and Lobbying Reform that he initiated!!!!

More at this link:

For this and for the reasoning that we need a future and not a past with old markers to be paid -

I support Obama!!!!!!!!!!!!

2. Where are all the GOOD things the Clinton Administration has done?
You list a couple of things you dislike about the record of the Clinton Administration and you claim that those things are Hillary's fault. By listing only them, you indicate that neither Bill or Hillary did anything good while in the White House.

But I remember many, many good things -- starting with eight years of peace and unequaled prosperity.

So here is a truer comparison -- using your own standards -- that you overlooked.

Hillary's experience = Eight years of peace, prosperity and national pride.

Barrack's experience = No peace. No prosperity. No national pride. Nothing much at all, really.

8. Here I thought that was Bill. Or are we back to counting those years as her experience?
See, I was just in an argument in which the Iraq sanctions and bombing under Clinton (which killed half a million Iraqi children), Don't Ask Don't Tell, the Defense of Marriage Act, and NAFTA were not part of Hillary's "experience," because that was Bill's doing.

I sure wish we could keep that straight.

14. Read the OP again and maybe you'll understand what I'm saying.
It is more than fair for me to give Hillary credit for everything Bill did, because the OP was holding Hillary responsible for everything that Bill did.

I used the same criteria as the original poster, who held Hillary responsible for such things as the Telecommunications Act of 1996. If she did that, then she also left the largest surplus in history.

It's pretty easy to see what I mean if you've half a brain.

Which I assume you do.

7. Any post that includes "Demanding" something as an accomplishment
or "introducing something" as an accomplishment, right off the bat can't be taken seriously. The spin aspect is so blatant that I will simply leave you to your pep rally.

12. Here are a few H. R. Clinton accomplishments ...

* She began her career as a lawyer after graduating from Yale Law School in 1973. (Remember how R's hated her because she actually worked for a living?)
* following her career as a Congressional legal counsel; she was named the first female partner at Rose Law Firm in 1979 and was listed as one of the one hundred most influential lawyers in America in 1988 and 1991.
* During 1974 she was a member of the Nixon impeachment inquiry staff in Washington D.C., advising the House Committee on the Judiciary during the Watergate scandal. She helped research procedures of impeachment and the historical grounds and standards for impeachment.
* Hillary co-founded the Arkansas Advocates for Children and Families, a state-level alliance with the Children's Defense Fund, in 1977.
* In late 1977, President Jimmy Carter appointed her to the board of directors of the Legal Services Corporation.
* She was the First Lady of Arkansas from 1979 to 1981 and 1983 to 1992, and was active in a number of organizations concerned with the welfare of children.
* She was chair of the Rural Health Advisory Committee where she successfully obtained federal funds to expand medical facilities in Arkansas' poorest areas without affecting doctors' fees.
* She fought a prolonged but ultimately successful battle against the Arkansas Education Association to put mandatory teacher testing as well as state standards for curriculum and classroom size in place.
* She introduced Arkansas' Home Instruction Program for Preschool Youth in 1985, a program that helps parents work with their children in preschool preparedness and literacy.
* She was the initial first lady to hold a post-graduate degree and to have her own professional career up to the time of entering the White House. She was also the initial first lady to take up an office in the West Wing of the White House.
* She fought hard for Universal Health Care as First Lady. Although it wasn't successful, it's something she learned from.
* She visited over 80 countries as First Lady giving important speeches about such controversial topics as human rights/women's rights in China.
* Her major initiative, the Clinton Health Care Plan, failed to gain approval by the Congress in 1994, but in 1997 she helped establish the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) and the Adoption and Safe Families Act.
* As a Senator and after the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, Hillary worked with her colleagues to secure the funds New York needed to recover and rebuild.
* She fought to provide compensation to the families of the victims, grants for hard-hit small businesses, and health care for front line workers at Ground Zero.
* She is the first New Yorker ever to serve on the Senate Armed Services Committee.
* She has visited troops in Iraq and Afghanistan and in countless other locations, truly understanding the challenges facing our troops.
* Hillary passed legislation to track the health status of our troops so that conditions like Gulf War Syndrome would no longer be misdiagnosed.
* She is an original sponsor of legislation that expanded health benefits to members of the National Guard and Reserves and has been a strong critic of the Administration's handling of Iraq.
* She has introduced legislation to tie Congressional salary increases to an increase in the minimum wage.
* She has supported a variety of middle-class tax cuts, including marriage penalty relief, property tax relief, and reduction in the Alternative Minimum Tax, and supports fiscally responsible pay-as-you-go budget rules.
* She helped pass legislation that encouraged investment to create jobs in struggling communities through the Renewal Communities program.
* She authored legislation that has been enacted to improve quality and lower the cost of prescription drugs and to protect our food supply from bioterrorism.
* She sponsored legislation to increase America's commitment to fighting the global HIV/AIDS crisis.
* She has lead the fight for the expanded use of information technology in the health care system to decrease administrative costs, lower premiums, and reduce medical errors.
* Clinton has successfully worked to ensure the safety of prescription drugs for children, with legislation now included in the Best Pharmaceuticals for Children Act.
* She has also proposed expanding access to child care.
* She has passed legislation that will bring more qualified teachers into classrooms and more outstanding principals to lead our schools.
* Hillary is one of the original cosponsors of the Prevention First Act to increase access to family planning.
* She fought with the Bush Administration and ensured that Plan B, an emergency contraceptive, will be available to millions of American women and will reduce the need for abortions.
* She introduced the Count Every Vote Act of 2005 to ensure better protection of votes and to ensure that every vote is counted.

Need more?

Look them up.

15. Thank you very much. It's about time.
Thanks for helping to show that Hillary tremendous real-world experience -- very much unlike Obama.

It has been easy for Hillary's opponents to deny that because the MSM won't do its job and explore the truth, and because nobody else has bothered to go to the trouble to research and publish all the good and courageous things she has done. (I actually know of a couple you left out). So, thanks.

When it comes to experience and sophistication in the school yard of law, politics, diplomacy, negotiation, leadership, precedent-breaking, and advancement of the causes of the poor and weak, the difference between them is patent.

Obama is the first grade boy, all dressed up in short pants, who just got off the school bus.

Hillary is the tough eighth-grade girl watching him, the one in the lipstick and leather jacket who has seen it all before.

You've certainly lowered the criteria bar pretty low, haven't you? You classify this as an accomplishment?

Our entire nation has lost its friggin' mind.

17. Here is the link - He has introduced legislation and wrote a letter to Condi Rice...
Edited on Wed Feb-06-08 03:27 PM by 1776Forever
http://obama.senate.gov/press/071030-obama_demands_a_2/

WASHINGTON, DC – Today (Oct. 2007), United States Senator Barack Obama (D-IL) sent the following letter to Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice demanding answers on reports that State Department officials offered Blackwater guards immunity from prosecution, which may hinder a criminal investigation into the September shooting that killed at least 17 Iraqis.

Dear Secretary Rice:

I am deeply troubled by news reports that the State Department promised guards employed by Blackwater USA immunity from prosecution as part of the Department's initial investigation into the September 16 shooting of 17 Iraqi civilians.

The seriousness of this incident – and its effect on the American military's reputation in Iraq – necessitates the prosecution of the appropriate Blackwater personnel if they are found to have committed crimes. However, a full investigation and prosecution will be difficult when all of the Blackwater guards – both in the vehicle convoy involved in the shooting and the helicopters above – were apparently given immunity by investigators from the Bureau of Diplomatic Security, an arm of the State Department. According to a law enforcement official familiar with the investigation said, "Once you give immunity, you can't take it away."

Although this matter has now been turned over from the State Department to the FBI, prosecutors will have to prove that any evidence they use in bringing charges against Blackwater guards was uncovered independently without using the guards' statements to Bureau of Diplomatic Security investigators. As any prosecutor knows, this is not impossible, but it is extremely difficult.

Because the decision to give immunity to Blackwater guards was a serious one and may potentially jeopardize any prosecution of those involved, I ask that you respond to the following questions:

1) Were you aware of the decision to provide immunity to Blackwater guards? If not, who made this decision?

2) Was the FBI or the Justice Department consulted before immunity was provided to Blackwater guards?

3) Do you agree with the decision to provide immunity to Blackwater guards?

I ask you to provide responses to these questions by November 6, 2007. Thank you.

Sincerely,

Barack Obama
United States Senator

Obama has introduced legislation in the Senate to make private security contractors in Iraq subject to federal criminal law; this bill has already passed the House. Obama has also called for the head of Blackwater to testify before the Senate. In February, Obama introduced comprehensive legislation to increase oversight on private security contractors in Iraq and Afghanistan; part of his legislation requiring reporting to Congress on the role of contractors passed the Senate last month.

........................

For this and many other reasons I am supporting Obama in every possible way!
