Poll question: Should Kerry's VP come from { Edwards, Clark }?
Edited on Sun Mar-07-04 01:47 PM by WillyBrandt
It's pretty obvious to me--though I might be wrong--that the best VP choices for Kerry are either Edwards or Clark.

Does anyone seriously think that there is a better choice besides these two?

1. But think about the ads if it is Clark
Kerry is trying to say that Bush is bungling his job as commander in chief. Bush ads will star Clark saying Bush is a great commander in chief. Think about how much pain we will be feeling if Kerry picks Clark and then Bush runs one of the several videos they have of Clark. Ouch.

2. Kerry will be talking about issues. Clark will be talking about
Bush. Just like always.

How's this for an ad?

Clark looks right into the camera and says: "Just like everyone else in America I had high hopes for George W. Bush. Just like everyone else in American, he let me down. America cannot afford four more years of lies and deceptions and failures. In November, vote for John Kerry for President. He has never lied to America."

These things aren't hard to do, you know. The MoveOn Child's Pay ad was put together for a contest. It didn't take a multimillion dollar polling contract with focus groups to make their point.

And don't be so worried about Bush's ads. Look at the shitstorm his first ones stirred up.

3. Same old same old
And then they'll say Kerry voted for it. Both happened before Bush blew it. Clark's speech is taken out of context. Clark said Bush did good job going in to Afghanistan but then Bush dropped hunt for OBL and took us into Iraq War instead. This position is held by many in Dem Party and most of the public. Clark can explain how the public was deceived by Bush bait and switch. Dean and others praised Bush after 9-11. Edwards agreed there was a connection between 9-11 and Saddam. Graham knew better so would it be better if they say Kerry and Graham were not on same page.

4. I think we should have a compassionate choice.
Yesterday I had to listen to how we old people and younger sick people are going to have fight to get something like affordable access to medical care, like we can fight when we feel like shit 90% of the time. So I would like either Dean or Kucinich. I hate business as usual.

6. I'm going to go out on a limb and say the VP won't come out of the
candidate pool at all. That's actually not very common anyway.

7. But this is an uncommon race where Edwards, Clark
look good
