17. Yes, Mrs. Greenspan is a beltway lackey
You may recall that the White House used her to promote the meme that Valerie Plame was not undercover and everyone in DC knew it. She was called on it, and quickly had to admit she was repeating something that she had no idea whether it was true.

She's a shill for Hillary.

If you don't know that Andrea Mitchell is a beltway shill, then you need to spend more time paying attention to what she says and does. I gave an example which most can understand. Apparently, it's over your head.

They were in 1992, but this is 2008. Bill Clinton has been the most powerful Democrat in the party for 16 years. Of the Democratic leaning media, a good proportion have some ties to his administration. I know there are publications to the left, but HRC started with many in her corner.

71. I reached it from your post. Please reread your post -
"Yes, Mrs. Greenspan is a beltway lackey

You may recall that the White House used her to promote the meme that Valerie Plame was not undercover and everyone in DC knew it. She was called on it, and quickly had to admit she was repeating something that she had no idea whether it was true.

She's a shill for Hillary."

Now, let's take a look at this. Your thesis statement is that "Mrs. Greenspan is a beltway lackey." You then go to Andrea Mitchell's involvement in the Plame scandal and her apparent shilling for the Bush White House. You then conclude that she's a shill for Hillary.

How did you reach those three points? I don't see the connection at all!

4. The statesmanlike thing to do for Kerry would have been to stay out of this
until after the primaries. Maybe Kerry is angry with the Clintons about not helping him more in 2004. I don't know. But there's something weird about the former Democratic candidate slamming one of the two Democratic candidates now. I don't like it, and I'd say the same if Kerry were slamming Obama.

85. How do you know how called how as far as campaigning went?
By late October, Kerry was surging on his own. He was getting crowds that were breaking all past records - including Clinton's in 1992. It was great that Bill Clinton came to Philadelphia and he did a good job - But John Kerry himself would have had a huge crowd - and the story would have been KERRY, not Clinton. From the CSPAN coverage, Kerry got as much or more applause on his applause lines as Clinton.

As to Ohio, there was not sufficient proof - you can't count votes not cast. Within 2 weeks of the election, Clinton was congratulating Karl Rove - that might signal the type of support the party would have given him.

88. In NJ, Corzine and Menendez were extremely active for HRC
I haven't seen a single thread knock them for it. I've seen HRC post endorsements for her - inluding Mondale and McGovern. As to this early, Kerry waited until after NH, unlike Gore in 2000.

I think you should read Kerry's reasons - they deal with the direction that he hopes the country will go in. Look at the battles he has been willing to fight that the Clintons have trashed him for since 2004. Also all Democrats agree on most issues, look at the difference on two issues. Kerry has been big on ethics and campaign financing reform - And Obama took a lead on this in Illinois and the US Senate. Let's just leave it that that is not the Clintons' strong suit.

Then there is the issue of accountability and openness in government - values I can find in Kerry speeches going back to the beginning of the records in Thomas. Look at how they did their respective healthcare reform efforts. HRC needed threats of lawsuits to even disclose who she talked to and the actual record of the task force is still unreleased. Obama, on the other hand, worked with all the stakeholders and got something passed.

In addition, Kerry really does seem to see Obama as closer to his foreign policy views - and I see more similarity in Obama speeches to Kerry's views.

Kerry has taken pains to praise HRC every time he is asked about her. He also defended her when she was attacked for asking for the exit plan. He did so strongly enough that the NYT caucus blog speculated that he was behind her.

Windsurfing is not an expensive sport - I've seen it in many places. It is not money, but the required fitness that filters who can do it. Clinton's golfing is likely more expensive - not to mention both have the money to do it.

This is how the game is played. Come on, Kerry and Kennedy have been saying plenty of nice things about Clinton. It does not mean that they have to agree to the BS media anymore than Clinton's people do. The truth is that Obama won some big states today: GA, IL, MO. Sure, your candidate won CA and it is the big state, but she got barely more than 50 % of the popular votes across those states. Why should he accept Mitchell's BS more than anybody else.

BTW, What about your governor, who, if I am not mistaken, is deeply supporting Obama. Is she a fool also.

Public opinion has veered sharply to the left in the last couple of years. "Conservative" is becoming the bad word in politics. "Liberal" may or may not be rehabilitated, but if it's not, I'm sure "progressive" is climbing in value.

92. Off the wall nonsense?
You mean like:

- Trying to rally the Democrats against Alito based on his extreme views on unitary President. Had the Clinton really thrown their weight behind it, they could have stopped him.

- Kerry/Feingold, which the Clinton wing vilified him for - yet after November 2006 - HRC is practically steal his words from then, now that it is the Democratic policy

or do you mean the 4 decades worth of being a leader on environmental issues - even back to when Clinton's response to Tyson's polluting the waters of Arkansas was to create a task force.

If you want off the wall stuff -

- Where did HRC's baby bond stuff go?
- Or her idea to freeze mortgage rates fro 5 years. Help is needed, but this seems to not even be legal.

oh and by the way Kerry...I sent you the 5 grand to count votes..not for you to give it to candidates..i may not approve
of.

Hey Kerry, i didn't see you whinning about the votes that weren't counted and people that were disenfranchised in 2004..

i guess Obama is more important to you Kerry ...than the millions of voters who stood in lines in the hot and cold to vote for your sorry ass..right Kerry? or your former running mate...who you fucked ...

karma sucks... huh Kerry..your Karma has worn its welcome. now go stfu.

You don't matter Kerry..the vote showed that last night..you have alot of nerve to come out today and say a damn thing..

52. wow fly, I'm sorry.
you have every right to be royally pissed.
This is one thing about Kerry that I will not forget either - I didn't give him money - but I do wonder where the hell it is as it was Not Used for what he promised he would do with it.

that is fraudulent in my eyes. He should be so ashamed and hide in some hole.

65. No wonder you are mad at the Democrats. Dude! I'd be angry, too.
Come to think of it, I am angry about it, but I gave the Democrats less.

28. Poor Obama. He had so much more momentum going until Kerry stepped in. What a dork
Obama probably would've taken MA if Kerry didn't endorse him. Oh well, Obama can always hope that Kerry will change his mind and endorse someone else by next week if the polls tell him to.

38. No that is not what he said. He said if Obama wins the majority
of delegates, but then Hillary argues to the superdelegates that he can't win a "big state", that is a lame argument. I mean, does anyone disagree with the notion that whoever wins the most delegates wins the nomination? It doesn't matter WHERE those delegates come from out in the country, just that they are won. It will be unforgiveable if super delegates vote AGAINST the people, by the way.

What is lame is people taking every opportunity to bash a surrogate just because he supports a different candidate.

51. It matters because if our nominee can't win a big state, historically blue states or...
on the fence states (like Ohio), then that nominee probably can't win the general.

Victories in places in Utah in the primaries mean NOTHING in the GE.

59. Not a valid argument
at least based on the vote results so far. What are the big states that Clinton has won so far? CA, NY, MA (ignore MI and FL, they do not count). Is there a reasonable chance of any of these NOT being won by the dem nominee, no matter who s/he is? Victories in Utah may not mean much in the GE, I agree with that,, but overall Obama has a better chance to turn purple into blue, and even have coattails in red states. We still have to wait and see what will be happening in other major purple(ish) states like VA, OH. or even PA.

61. Obama won IL (more voters than NY), MO, and GA. Not exactly as if he could not win a big state.

93. The Democratic candidate NOT winning Massachusetts in the primaryt
does not mean he won't win it in the general election. McCain lost Utah, does that mean he won't carry it in the general election? If McCain loses Texas in the primary, should they worry about it in the general election?

Also what happens if it is McCain/Obama - does that mean NO ONE wins Massachusetts.

The primary is against another person with Democratic values.

63. A sad image
of mindless silly negativism, and mighty "cojones" that so many like to refer to, butonly when behind a keyboard, while said cojones would be barely noticeable even when under a microscope in the real world in which Kennedy and Kerry function (admirably, I must add). I think/hope that we should not blame Clinton for the childishness of some of her supporters. But it is sad, I agree.

in other words, they know not what they do.

Let them trash great Democrats at their own peril. They have nothing else.
