at least until today? He would have won quite a few more delegates, even if had not won the state. Reportedly he got 10% in OK after he dropped out of the race. He could have had a major impact on this race if he had stayed in until today? Agree or disagree?

2. He did have an impact by bowing out. I think it's why he did.
What the Huckster did is split the divided party farther. it hurt the pukes. The same could have happened to the Dems.

3. Agree
but we would have never known if Obama could carry white males and rural voters. As you can see by looking at the states he won, he did quite well with this demographic.

All the same, I wish Edwards had not suspended his campaign. Because we give proportional delegates, his presence isn't a "spoiler" in the way a third candidate might be in a winner take all race. Also, because we give proportional delegates, his supporters could have been a powerful presence at the convention, even if he never won a single state (just get 15%)

4. Disagree: Huckabee decisively won 4 states (plus Iowa)
There is no case to be made that Edwards would have won a single state, nor even more than a handful of delegates, because it is unlikely he would have risen above 15% in many places.

So, no, I don't think the situations are similar.
