it is there for a reason, to deal with serial spammers and offensive nuts, and is a much better alternative than not using it and instead posting your own unsubstantial posts complaining about spam.

When there are clearly psychologically disturbed people on the board, just hit ignore.

We are supposed to be somewhat self-reliant, not just hoping the Mods will fix everything to our satisfaction.

Seriously, how difficult is to put that guy on Ignore? I don't say your concerns are without merit, because they have merit, but why put up with the problem when the answer is at your fingertips, literally?

It seems self defeating to refuse to use the one tool DU gave each person here to deal with assholes who start too many threads. I don't care what the topic is, if I see four or five threads on the page started by the same person, I'm going to put them on Ignore under the theory they talk too much and listen too little. Every topic is discussed in 20 different threads a day, so why bother with threads started by jerks? Ever?

29. Well, it's like this...

up till last night I had never put anyone on ignore.
Finally, a couple of people's obnoxiousness finally got to me to the point where I started to use it.
The poster in question i have not put on ignore because he kind of amuses me...however, i just feel that in general the forum would be a better place without being clogged by the spam.
He doesn't personally upset me but clearly he upsets a lot of other people.
