Do people realize that Obama would be getting free air time with debates as well?
Or has the sphincter cranium gap closed too tightly?

I think a debate a week is too much but I would like to see a debate or two more.

While many of here have seen most if not all of the debates that have happened. Many voters have not.

Another debate of two would be fine.

Just NOT ON FOX!

...said it in his press conference.

He just said that one per week is a bit much.

4. It's all about retail politics for him now.
He can generate all kinds of local press by himself.

This was the approach he used successfully in Iowa.

Besides, he's favored to win all 9 states in February. Why give Clinton an opening to get back in the game?

5. From Two Sparkles...in my original thread
“I think the Clinton camp’s basic attitude was that the whole calendar was set up to deliver the knockout blow on Feb. 5,” Mr. Obama said. “And not only did we play them to a draw, we won more delegates and we won more states. What that means is that we are in a fierce competition and we’ve got many more rounds to fight.”
But Mr. Obama said most of that fighting would be done on the ground in the next voting states, not in debates. When asked whether he would accept the invitation from Mrs. Clinton to attend four more debates in the coming weeks, he laughed.

“I don’t think anybody is clamoring for more debates,” he said. “We’ve had 18 debates so far. I think we’ve had 10 more than we’ve had in the last Democratic contest.”
He said he would agree to at least one debate, but noted, “It’s very important for me to spend time with voters.”

7. There is a debate scheduled for Ohio.
But really, we're back to almost retail politics, aren't we - it's state-by-state now, so campaigning in the state seems to make more sense than going for a national audience, for both candidates.

Apparently not. I don't want to remain in the old, past, and status quo. Hillary is in the past, this country needs to move on, no more Bush/Clinton/Bush/Clintons, we can do better than that. I don't want to hear about Bill fucking everything in sight for the next 8 years.

47. You Obviously Completely Missed The Point.
Probably happens often, but I digress...

Let me spoonfeed ya:

See, I wasn't saying such things are OK to be said here. My comments were in regards to how humorous I found it that some week old poster had the arrogance to think they were telling some 5 yr veteran something they didn't know, as if they knew better than them somehow. It was really funny!

See, someone with experience here knows that certain things are against the rules, but that, like, ya know, sometimes there are conscious decisions to break them anyway. :hi:

41. Don't Beg.
And he absolutely knows when put in a real environment like that, that he doesn't excel nearly as well as when he can just simply give stump speeches.

If he thought it would help him, he'd do it. But the fact is, he's a bit scared to be put in that situation more frequently than he has to be, cause then it's for real and his experience will be on full display.

34. Hillary needs to debate because she's running out of money.
Barack's forte is filling large arenas and speaking. There's no need for him to debate the same issues over and over and over again, especially when he's raking in millions a month for television advertising.

50. I think another couple of debates would be good for the party
Edited on Wed Feb-06-08 06:57 PM by onenote
It will keep them both in the forefront of the news and crowd out some of the attention that will otherwise be given to McCain.

I'm leaning Obama's way, but could switch over to HRC and fully expect to support vigorously the Democratic Party candidate, whomever he or she may be.

And I even think the idea of a debate on FOx isn't a bad idea. Fox viewers are fed a caricature of both HRC and Obama and the real deal for both of them is much more impressive. They can't lose any votes among FOx viewers and there might be some Fox viewers who might see them in a more positive light.
