Bill Clinton, Barack Obama to visit Maine

By Portland Press Herald Staff Report
February 06, 2008 05:05 PM

PORTLAND — Former President Bill Clinton is scheduled to visit the city tomorrow night, in hopes of mobilizing Democratic primary support for his wife.

The "Solutions for America" rally, announced this afternoon, is one of two campaign events in Maine during the run-up to the state's Democratic caucus on Sunday.

Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., and Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., are neck-and-neck in the race for the Democratic presidential nomination following a Super Tuesday that produced no clear winner.

The event is scheduled for 7:30 at the Portland Exposition Building on Park Avenue. The rally is open to the public; there is no admission charge.

Obama will visit Bangor on Saturday, underscoring just how competitive the race has become. The rally will take place at 2:30 p.m. at the Bangor Auditorium. The Obama event also is open to the public.
