The problem with defending against the "Sexism" charge.
#1 If you defend yourself by denying that sexism has no part in this particular decision, you are accused of denying "sexism" or at least diminishing it as an issue.

#2 If you remain silent when accused of being sexist, you are told that you silence equals assent. Speak up, you are told. Admit that sexism exists.

#2 If you admit that sexism exists, you either have to change your mind about your candidate or go back to #1 above.

6. there is no way to win that argument
it is very similar to being accused of being a child molester, in that being accused is enough to make you look bad even if there is no truth to the accusation.

I will take the policy of walking away from the accusation, even if it appears that 'silence equals guilt'.

7. When LBJ was running for congress...
...legend says, he wanted to spread the rumor that his opponent was a pig-fucker. Johnson's campaign manager said, "Lyndon, you know he doesn't do that!" Johnson replied, "I know. I just want to make him deny it."

I'm not playing their game. Hillary is not as well suited for the job as the man who was my first choice, but she is better suited than the man that is my third choice. Gender does not play a major role in my decision.

One only needs to justify their choice to themselves. This ain't about being fair, it's about choosing the candidate who a) can win and b) can govern well once having won.
