How to beat McCain in November |
|
Pat Buchanan summed up the McCain platform: Fewer jobs; more wars.
The Democratic candidate just needs to deflate that "maverick," "moderate Republican" image he's built. He's worse than Bush on both trade policy and foreign policy. You gotta wake up pretty early in the morning to accomplish that.

1. Obama will win the Independents away from McCain. |
|
Obama beats McCain 62 to 53 among Independents. Since the Indies already know who the GOP frontrunner and probable GOP nominee is, they are even now choosing among McCain, Hillary and Obama--so maybe Obama is getting their vote already. Hillary scores lower than McCain among Independents.
If we nominate Hillary, chances are McCain wins the election, because they will vote for him to vote against her. Not so if Obama wins the nomination.
We don't want another 50-50 election. We need the majority of Independents on our side to pull off a victory. Our nominee needs to be Obama for this reason, if for no other.
