CNN finally calls LA for Huckabee
It went down to the wire.

1. This can't be good news for McCain
The GOP can argue that our 3-1 turnout advantage was because they now have a nominee (presumptive)? But, using that logic, McCain should have coasted to an easy 60-70% victory. Nope --Huckabee beats him, and also beats McCain in whatever it is they do (a caucus, I guess) in Kansas.

I also see that Rick Perry is asking Huckabee to step aside. I wonder why he'd do that unless someone else, maybe a Texan, maybe someone who doesn't want to involve himself in this directly, asked him to make a statement like that.

2. It's gonna be a lot less likely that Huck steps aside anytime soon.
He'll start attracting some funding from the not-McCain crowd, and that will let him go on for a while. Will be interesting to see the next round.
