Right wing anti-McCain sentiment is a RUSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yep, you have been saturated with the news that right wing media from Limbaugh to Hanni ty do like McCain. Even Ann Coulter had to put her 2 cents in this discussion. If you know any thing about Karl Rove tactics, you'd know his M.O. It is just old fashion, "Reverse psychology". Karl would shoot his own foot and blame a Democrat, just like when he bugged his own office. So why do they attack McCain? Simple, the right wing choke hold on Americas consciousness has dissipated and Americans now have an aversion to Right winger propaganda. So if they tell you they hate McCain you will have more favorite view of him and actually vote for the nut! Believe me, From Michael Savage to Rush, they really love the guy and know their days are numbered, so they are pulling fast one here. The GOP is dead in the water and all the passive/Aggressive tactics in the world ain't gonna save them!
What do you think.

1. So what about...
some of the message boards I frequent that have a bunch of drooling social conservatives passing about info from Vietnam Veterans Against John McCain like it is Gospel?

7. Just as the far left hates HRC, the far right hates McCain.
Tells me something is wrong with the extremes on both sides.

9. I'm way far left, and I do not hate Hillary..
I think we need a fresh breeze to air things out a little. Hillary has far too much baggage IMO.

She seems determined to be president because that was her plan all along and gosh, she has just has her heart set on it, so we should give it to her.

I'll vote for her if I am forced to, but I won't be happy about it.:patriot:

6. They'll "balance" the ticket with a far-right bastard, act like they are
reducing the troop levels in Iraq, do a couple more economic stimulus deals, pin the radical muslim liberal dreamer tax raiser label on Obama, and make it clear that McCain plans on one term only & then call it good.

10. Just MHO here ...
The GOP know they don't have a chance in November. The hatred for McCain is genuine. The Republicans will spin his inevitable loss as the consequence of voters having chosen the "not-conservative-enough" candidate.

Headline - Post-election, November 2008: "Republican powers-that-be state that with the 'right candidate', they would have won the presidency and recaptured their rightful majority in the House and Senate."

Ergo, the Republican losses will be the voters' fault, and not the fault of "the Party".

11. I disagree, the fact the'll allow a 71 yearold man run with no medical check-up is absurd, why
will he make it thru his term before senility sets in? - gimme a freegin break. The fact is repugs have no-one to win the WH. and Hillary looks like she's taking another slide back from Obama which is the last person the repukes want in the WH.

12. Wrong. They loathe McCain, and have been savaging him for years
Way before he began his presidential run. Most also qualify their comments by saying they would hold their nose and go with McCain just to keep a "very liberal Democrat" out of the White House.

And Krooked Karl is playing no role in this year's campaign. Most have already tossed him on the junk heap where he belongs.

14. You don't know any actual conservatives, do you?
Not Republicans, but red state, red meat, anti-choice, pro-war, pro-gun, anti-poor zealots?

I'm related to several. I work with several. They HATE McCain. They HATE him.

Some of them may be persuaded to hold their nose and vote for him, but many are thinking about sitting it out or even voting for Obama. Why, I'm not sure.

This has nothing to do with Karl Rove. His days are over.

17. it's not a ruse,
They have been talking McCain down for YEARS.. this is nothing derived from the primaries. They haven't liked McCain since before 2000, and it's killing them he is going to get the nod. Understand, most of them will back him eventually.. even though it will be half-heartedly. But many of the "everyday" repubs are looking for a way out.

19. It's no ruse. Try reading about McCain on FR.
They really hate him there, and I don't think they are clever enough to organize and maintain a board-wide "ruse".

20. No
but they're also not intelligent enough to form an opinion of their own.

Here's the ruse: Rush and Coulter say, "If McCain's the nominee, I'll vote for Hillary." They're just trying to rally the base with fear of Hillary That's the only reverse psychology at work here.

And you are very deluded if you think that Rove is not lurking just below the surface in this campaign.

21. Is this tongue and cheek? Because, of course, they DO hate McCain.
They originally disliked him. With every non-conservative thing he worked on, they disliked him more and more. Then, when he got involved in the illegal immigration "amnesty" bill, that drove them over the edge. He was persona non grata after that.

It is no ruse. They hate him because they view him as a turncoat, a traitor. That's how Repubs are. They expect the masses to line up behind the platform and do the party's bidding. They do not respect mavericks, and they are intolerant of other positions. They make no exceptions.

But you know this already, if you've been following the GOP for the last couple of decades.
