1. It's not useful
it's stupid to slam other democratic candidates. I don't have a problem with slamming repub candidates though ;)

4. Bless you...
Here's something that cracks me up. There's an Edwards supporter here who was just adamantly prickish about the other candidates.

Well, Edwards dropped out. Now this person is supporting Clinton. And this person had posted the most horrible, vile diatribes against Clinton.

It cracks me up.

Why tear down fellow Democrats? They're not the enemy. If you have torn down our candidates, you may well end up supporting them later, and you'll just look like a stupid hypocrite.

Support your candidate. Don't try to destroy the other one, because you just may end up supporting her.

5. The slamming has been one of the worst parts of DU lately
It's been driving me insane.

6. All fighting is useful
Edited on Sun Feb-10-08 02:10 AM by Pigwidgeon
The kind of juvenalia that goes on here is the least useful, though.

So, why do I say anything positive about fighting? Because we Democrats have been afraid of conflict for too long. We have lost the ability to fight ethically and effectively. We need to regain those skills.

There's an old military maxim that is one of the few good things that ever came out of physical warfare:
There is a fundamental choice every warrior must make: to sweat in training, or to bleed in combat.

(And vis-a-vis the "crying Hillary" nonsense, let me add one of my own:
Whosoever is not occasionally blinded by tears will forever be blinded by pride.)

The party's new and back-bench warriors come here to train. Even the whining, gloating, star-struck fools. If they pay attention, they won't stay fools very long.

To victory.

--p!

On Edit: Added the weeping epigram.

7. nope, not useful
neither is slamming the supporters of another candidate. Unless, of course, a particular one is really obnoxious and needs it. :D

I now have twelve people on ignore.

10. I disagree
defending your candidate is far better than purposely slamming another.

21. Oh, absolutely.
I haven't slammed the other candidate at all. I have criticized his campaign.

But I seem to attract people who want to attack me personally for my choice, or who answer me back with another stupid smear.

The only time I put someone on ignore is when they attack me personally for what I have said. Why can't they answer my argument?

I am not going to slam Obama. He is my senator, and I have voted for him once already. If he is the nominee, I will vote for him.

13. They never, ever have something bad to say about a Republican.
Never.

They think so highly of the Republican candidates that they are sure that any one of them can beat whichever one of ours they are bleating against.

After our nominee is determined, they will be back with new identities to spread more lies and innuendo, regardless of who they support now.

Yep.

14. Monkey, you gotta admit that some of your fellow Clintonites are way over the top
I haven't seen anybody claiming to be from our side that comes close. Beyond that, the way that Hillary herself is trying to rig the system (ie. Florida & Michigan, among other things) really pisses me off.

Thing is though, I went to my caucus today and didn't have any desire to yell obscenities at the Hillary voters. Maybe it's because they were just people and not raging assholes like some here are?
