As much as I like Al Gore... |
|
...I wouldn't want to see him emerge as a "compromise candidate" at the Convention. Sorry.
Too many people have worked way too hard on either side--we NEED a clear-cut winner for this contest if we hope to take back the White House in November. If that means letting a bitter rival on to the ticket as a running mate, so be it...
...but Jesus Christ. Al Gore SHOULD have ran last Fall, but he didn't. And as much as we love the guy, it's completely nonsensical for the country to pretend like the last 4-5 months didn't happen. In my opinion, it'd be a mistake of colossal proportions.

1. It's to dampen Obama enthusiasm |
|
That's the only reason the Clintons are spreading this myth. I hope people don't fall for it.

2. I like Al Gore too, but I was never one of those |

diehard Goore 2008 folks. After all, he's the one that put Joe Lieberman on the ticket, a colossal error in judgement which allowed 2000 to be so close that Bush just had to reach out and take it.

4. Most likely Gore's response to this absurd idea would be "are you |
|
kidding me?" He's too much of a gentleman to say FU, but he'd be clever enough to get that point across. I doubt he has any interest whatsoever...and who could blame him..

This is obvious. But there is always some media moron writing these kinds of stories about the white male knight swooping down from the heavens to save the party. Imagine you are Hillary or Barack and you've worked your butt off for over a year, raising money, giving speeches, greeting potential supporters, putting your life on the line. You are now going to hand the nomination to someone who didn't sacrifice? Nonsense.
