18. That theory doesn't pass "The Smell Test." It was HRC's people who figuratively said,
"Off with his journalistic head!"

After all, isn't Chelsea RIGHT in denying all press interviews while shamelessly "dialing for super delegates," being that she's only 12 years old and a true MODEL of Clintonian purity? Of course, since no embarrassing pictures of Chelsea have surfaced we are SUPPOSED to assume that she is POLITICAL purity personified. Why? Look at her parent's behavior? :eyes:

30. Matthews is creepy and gross
and I am an Obama supporter and I approved this message.

However, I think that Hillary could have (but wont) exhibit some grace towards Shuster,
which would have made her the bigger person. Instead, she got caught up into grinding this guy up
into the dust. This made me think less of her than I already did.

the M$M this easily "as a mere candidate" how much she will OUTRIGHT BULLY the M$M if she and her husband
run The Executive Branch for a 3rd Term? :scared:

Every criticism will be called "Clinton hating" JUST LIKE every criticism of The Chimperor was deemed "Bush hating." :wow:

It's time to make a clean sweep of getting POLITICAL ROYALTY out of our beloved Executive Branch. That's way too much power that HRC is seemingly welding over "The Forth Estate." :(

FYI, on a candidate supporter's level, IMO, Schuster's ouster is good for Obama supporters because, in general, Schuster was MORE often "highly critical" of Obama's actions.

Way to *eat your own* Hillary & Co!

11. He did not apologize immediately
Shuster flat out absolutely REFUSED to apolgize Thursday night after he made those comments, in an email exchange with a Clinton campaign official. By Friday morning he was giving a half ass non apology apology to those who were offended because they misunderstood the real intent of his words. It took until Friday night for Shuster to give a real apology.

13. That's IMMEDIATE for M$M. It's hilarious because Schuster, in general, was very FAIR
to both candidates. If anything, he was IMO, more critical of Obama.

Because of a moment's gaffe, e.g., haven't we all done that?, HRC is ruining this Excellent "investigative journalist's career.

Now, ask yourself why SO MANY party members seemingly despise "The Clintons?"

Could it be their vicious "take no prisoners" attitude when it comes to winning elections?

Do you consider for one moment "the heart ache" that 22 y.o. Monica Lewinsky's parents have felt since that scandal?

NO? Why? Because it's all about "The Clintons" and their mighty quest for "Political Power" regardless of the democratic politicians and journalistic carcases that are left in their wake.

It's beyond time to take "The Clintons" down from that democratic pedestal and reveal their SMARMY underside for what they truly have morphed into:

MORALLY BANKRUPT & POLITICALLY POWER MAD!

The Clintons do NOT deserve a third term in *our* Executive Branch - they are NOT entitled. :nuke:

27. It's not immediate for a personal email exchange
Shuster immediately defended his choice of words after the demeaning implications of them were pointed out to him in person and in private.

The latest reports are that Clinton is NOT seeking to have him fired and I believe that. The letter that was released about it never called for him to be permanently removed and it was written BEFORE Shuster finally issued a real apology but AFTER he swung at and missed his first two softball chances for him to do so.

14. here is how schuster apologized
"if you are too fucking stupid to see my point of view on this, I am sorry you are so fucking stupid"

Oldberman had to step in and give the real apology cuz Schuster could not figure out that even metaphorically calling Senator Clinton a pimp and Chelsea a whore was way over the top. I am a bit surprised at how many Obama supporters think this sort of "journalism" or political commentary is acceptable. When his free ride is over, we'll see how you feel when he is one getting smeared by tweety et al.

If Kerry of Gore had responded forcefully to media smears Bush might not be president today.

Schuster's non apology. I do believe you missed the point of my comment, that Schuster's non-apologies basically said that he was sorry his critics did not agree that he was right to call Hillary a pimp and Chelsea a whore on national TV.

to the Republicans, theatrical grotesques every one, as the next man, but since I have a low opinion of the ploys and manipulations of ALL politicians, and given the trivial context, the pimping metaphor, while it may have been close to the line, strikes me as simply a vernacular parallel to the use of the semantically-associated word, "meretricious", literally "whorish", but signifying "cheap and venal" - at which nobody would turn a hair.

What does strike me as odd is that Schuster should have made such a big deal of it as to use such a metaphor. It seems very odd to me for a grown man, and very worldly commentator, I gather, to be so horrified by it. It reminds me a bit of when that gnarled old Republician Senator almost tearfully intoned on the Larry King show, during the Clinton impeachment farce, that he could never have the same complete faith in the honesty of politicians ever again! Shades of Little Red Riding Hood. Bill had single-handedly opened the old arch-worldling's innocent young eyes to a whole world of adult chicanery! It seems a lot of DUers have interpreted it far too literally and pedantically. Still it won't do any harm if it makes Schuster and other MSM figures a little more sensitive in their choice of words. Politicians may be fair game, but not their nibloes.

wouldn't they?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Age_of_reason_(canon_law)

One was a young woman in a consensual, private, sexual relationship wantonly vilified by a vast and thoroughly evil coterie of right-wingers, simply because they were determined to destroy Clinton; she was "collateral damage", nice euphemism for "assassination", in this case of her character in the public arena.

The other is a wholly private individual, who happens to be the child of an eminent political family.

49. Their affair should have been a totally private matter, with only their
families' having the right delve into it, and maybe even publicise it, if they felt so inclined. But to see the contortions you Clinton-haters will go through - why you're as shameless as those neocon low-lifes - to justify the persecution of both parties and their families defies belief. No wonder the US is in the state it's in, if you are regular DUers - of which I'm not necessarily persuaded.

Certainly Monica was a victim, too, of the viciousness of Clinton's enemies, as so many other innocent people were, but what has Chelsea done that you people feel is fair game for the perjured, neocon-owned MSM to vilify her character? I doubt if that was Schuster's intention, but it seems to be yours. She and her family, not to speak of Monica Lewisnky, will alway have more class than you people and your kind. Get over it!

I want Schuster doing what he does almost as well as anyone out there...good solid reporting. Keep him out of the commentary business and have him reporting straight news.

26. He said it, I heard it.
I thought it would only be for a week or something. You know, a slap on the wrist and a token gesture of apology for a minor gaffe that was taken out of context. Now... it's indefinite. Why? Because Hillary said it wasn't enough.

I hope the media as a whole is watching this and is growing pissed at the Clinton's. I hope this blows up in their face and it ruins her campaign. She deserves it. She is ruining his career simply so she can try and pressure MSNBC for lopsided coverage that is cheery and positive of her and her campaign. If I was MSNBC I'd tell her fuck off, and if she didn't want to come to my debate that's fine - I'd just turn it into a Town Hall meeting for Obama.

It is shameful and sad that our supposedly "free" media can be bullied into submission so easily.

Olbermann? One slip of the tongue and you know the Clinton's will be on him like flies on shit. He's not my cup of tea personally. But I don't know about any of the rest of you but I damn sure don't want another 8 years where the President tries to control and muzzle and strong-arm the press. And for what? Raising a legitimate issue (even though I will totally concede the wording was poorly chosen-it was indeed accurate). And you know what really proves that he was right? The way the Clinton campaign is using this to get publicity, to control MSNBC "We won't give you debates or interviews until you do what we want you to do". Talk about trying to manipulate and control and supress.

Anyone got an address where we can write or call or whatever to protest this ridiculousness?
