2. Too late and WAY too political...
If he wasn't so concerned about his own butt we would've heard from him long before now.

6. Wouldn't it have been more political for him to endorse before Super Tuesday

to try to get maximum value for his dollar? This automatic jumping to negative conclusions about Senator Edwards' character does not become you.

9. Just my honest opinion...
It's pretty obvious he's more interested in cutting a deal for himself than letting us know what's going on. He owes his supporters more. I could see he would drop out after SC (and someone from the campaign told an NPR reporter they pretty much decided to drop out that night) ~ yet, the campaign collected lots more money after that. I'm glad I didn't pony up then ~ haven't heard from them since.

I've been around long enough to know that politicians look after their own butts.

4. Bayh, Clark, Richardson, Warner....I'm sure Edwards is aware that 'promises' from Clintons only

go so far.

Heck, I remember when Bill Clinton promised the most ethical governance and then he gets into WH and immediately sets about PROTECTING BushInc from accountability throughout the 90s for its serious crimes of office that had been ongoing investigations.

8. Does anyone have the list of people who were supposed to be her VP candidate
at one time or another? The selection changes as soon as the current caucus or primary passes.

11. It would be a nice endorsement for either.....
but I agree that it won't carry as much weight as it would have a week ago. It may look too political to outside observers. People will assume (rightly or wrongly) that Edwards is going to endorse whoever has offered him the best deal.

I will say that this endorsement would be much more important for Obama to get as opposed to Clinton. Obama could send Edwards to Ohio for the next two weeks and let him pound his populist message in support of Obama before the primary. Also, with Edwards on board it would be much easier for Senator Sherrod Brown to endorse Obama. Both Edwards and Brown share a very similar populist message which would give a big boost to Obama with the so called "lunch pail" democrats.
