You know, if this IS a cult, it's a pretty sweet deal. |
|
I mean, most cults I've heard of demand you tithe huge percentages of your income, or turn you against your friends and family, or send you off to some huge compound in the middle of nowhere to await the "departure into heaven" or some such.
But it cost me NOTHING to join the "cult of Obama" except my vote--already done.
It hasn't turned me against my friends and family, because most of them are voting for him too.
And instead of dragging us off to some godforsaken hellhole, Obama is coming to US, state by state, asking for our support in a democratic election and getting all sorts of people interested in the political process for the first time. Other than that, we pretty much go about our lives as usual.
In fact, if you didn't know better, you'd swear he was just your ordinary (though very gifted) presidential candidate instead of the Half-Human Third son of Scha'ab (Praised Be His Name) WE know him to be.
So yeah, if Obama really is a cult--cults are pretty awesome! :) Now if you'll excuse me, I have to put on a white robe and dance in a small circle for a few hours...

1. The media is just alarmed to see people actually believing in something |

as opposed to the cynicism and apathy they usually try to promote.

5. Isn't that the Polyphonic Spree? |
|
They're an Indie Rock Band, which is practically (but not quite) the same thing as a Cult.

8. The thing I like about this cult is that there doesn't seem to be any reason |
|
for me to have to watch for the next comet and avoid drinks that haven't been specifically poured by my own hand.
