As an Edwardian I have to give Hillary supporters credit for their class on Edwards
There has been a lot of speculation about who, if anyone, Edwards will endorse. Hillary supporters have acted like adults the whole time. No Hillary supporter is demanding that Edwards MUST endorse Hillary and that if he doesn't he is a phony and fraud (this could be because it wasn't Hillarites who spent a year swiftboating Edwards on the netroots as a phony and a fraud...). Today we have a report that he is, OMG!!!, talking to both candidates before deciding which one would better implement his agenda. The Obama thugs are already out in full force attacking Edwards. Hillary supporters? Pure class. I believe if Edwards ends up endorsing Obama Hillary supporters will say something like "We respect his decision but we disagree." We already know what Obamites will do if he endorses Hillary. Disgusting. I hope Edwardians factor in how the supporters of the two candidates act (and acted. Remember who the Edwards attacks came from in the blogosphere for a year?) regarding Edwards when deciding between the two celebrities. There isn't much of a difference on policy so things like this should be a factor.

1. Edwards was always my #2
I'd respect whatever his decision was, because I believe he will make it based on which candidate will best carry through on his policies.
He's not someone who would do it merely for a "power" play for a political position or cabinet post.

I hope he endorses Hillary --but if he endorses Obama then I'd congratulate Edwards (and his supporters) on his decision.

6. Former Edwards supporter, now for Hillary
It's wrong to support any candidate only because of his or her supporters, but I have to admit, emotionally supporters (on DU and off) played a part in my decision to support Hillary. Nobody likes being browbeaten, then mocked if you decide against their candidate. I'm not saying all Obama supporters do this, but a LOT of them do. And it's offensive.

Yes, if John does endorse Obama (which is far from a sure thing), I'll be one of those who say I respect him and his decision, but I've made mine. I will NOT be angry at him for doing so.

19. Agreed
I was called "Hillbot" and more back when I was a Kucinich supporter (and then later when I went to Edwards). Why? Because I dared to question Obama and voice my disapproval with things he said and did. Apparently anybody who wasn't on the O-train was by default a "Hillbot". Now I'm actually a Hillbot given that both Kucinich and Edwards are out.

7. I think Clinton and Edwards would have made one hell of a ticket.
I say would have because I do believe Obama is the easy favorite for the nomination now. Also because of the dynamics of the race, Clinton/Edwards (or even Edwards/Clinton) would not, on the surface, seem to be the most politically advantageous pairing.

I also think it would be far easier politically for Edwards to endorse Obama, and the fact that he has yet to tells me he is dissatisfied with one or more of his policies. My guess would be his health-care plan.

(BTW, I was an Edwards supporter who voted for Hillary.)

17. Me too. But I think you might be looking at an Obama/Edwards ticket.
Now I don't know how Obama will handle the fact that Edwards also voted for the IWR. He admitted that was a mistake, but it doesn't change the fact that he also, and for the same reasons as Hillary, voted for that resolution.

10. K & R!
:hi:

Edwards was to my left, but he was my second choice behind Hillary because he wants to fight the right wing as does Hillary. Obama wants to play nice. That is why the GOP wants him to be the Democratic nominee. I don't want him.

16. I believe Edwards will endorse Obama.
We need to win in November, and my switch from Edwards to Obama after Edwards' "suspension" has everything to do with my belief that Obama has the better chance in the general election. I have nothing against Hillary's loyal supporters, nor have I anything against Obama's rather enthusiastic DU contingent. I simply feel the Clinton brand has lost its appeal. After 16 years of getting pummeled by hate radio, Hillary is barely electable (and that's more the fault of Newt Gingrich and Rush Limbaugh than it is Hillary's).
