LOL! Obama wins Houlton, Maine.
Forgive me Mainiacs, I love your state dearly, but Houlton has to be one of the more desolate places I've been.

Houlton is way, way up north in Maine- right on the Canadian border. It has a population of about 6,500 and it is overwhelming white and working class, and there are a lot of people living under the poverty line. No elites in Houlton, Clintonites. In fact, this is a town where until recently schools shut down each fall for a couple of weeks so students could help out with the potato harvest.

Aroostook County

Town of Houlton went for Obama! Huge turnout for a caucus. Over a hundred were there, Obama won by almost twenty

2. There are links in the D-KOS thread (link to it provided in the OP)...

This one looks good: http://www.wmtw.com/index.html - but no results yet.

I googled Maine Democratic Party and got this -> http://www.mainedems.org/home.aspx -- there is no link for results, though.

5. Houlton
Reminds of Lou Holtz' description of Fayetteville, Arkansas:

"It's not the end of the world, but you can see it from there".

This is remote country, folks. It's hardscrabble, a mix of French Canadians and some Native Americans, and nary a Starbucks nor a Lexus dealership to be seen.

9. If there's no Starbucks do we have to give those votes back?
It must be a big misunderstanding :D

14. It apparentlty is a factor in the election
In case anyone is interested and has missed the Starbucks factor both in the 2006 election and in the 2008 Democratic primaries:

17. Houlton & Cape Elizabeth
I am from Houlton but live in Cape Elizabeth now. Very glad Houlton went for Obama. He won big in Cape Elizabeth --- 556 Obama, 217 Clinton. We had double the number expected at the caucus and it took over an hour to get thru the door.
