Hillary Clinton's town hall meeting in Roanoke, VA cancelled
due to high winds knocking out electricity. Winds gusting up to 70mph and forest fires threaten hundreds of homes.

6. It's windy in the Raleigh area, too - but I don't think anywhere as bad as it
is in VA.

Stay safe and warm, everyone! :grouphug:

7. No matter whose side you want for the nomination, there were a lot
of people in the crowd that would have attended this event who were probably first-time voters for the Democratic ticket. I hope they have another chance to attend a campaign event.

We will need all Democrats on deck in November.

8. Thanks for the well wishes.....
I had decided not go go into Roanoke because I have a small convertible and knew it wouldn't be safe to drive. It sucks Hillary's visit was cancelled.

A couple of miles from us are huge gas storage tanks that could be threatened by the fires. I feel for the people who live close to those. We have a mountain between us and the tanks.

9. Hopefully
She will reschedule. Seeing her in person is great. Tonight though it is probably better to stay at home and be safe. Take care and try not to get blown away.

10. Thanks...
I hope she can reschedule. Like I said no way was a driving a small convertible in that kind of wind. There are trees down all over the place to make things even more hazardous.

The fire extends up to the Blue Ridge Parkway as well which is always upsetting.

11. I'm sorry to hear that
It is so seldom we in Virginia get to feel a part of the process. As I posted earlier, she had a very exciting rally in Manassas, VA today and there were so many people that you had to be there hours ahead of time to even get in the room. I was in the overflow room so will watch in a few minutes as the rally will come on C-SPAN.

15. We stuck our xmas tree out in front of our house in No. VA and it blew away...
The wind here today has been insane!!! Like really bad. I feel bad about the Christmas tree blowing into someone else's yard, but we couldn't find it.

And it was a huge tree - I feel bad...

And yeah, we shoulda done it a month ago - we're slow...
