Why some may find Obama scary....
I know that it is great to bring together a large base to bring about some type of progressive change. However, I don't think it's wise for everyone to rally behind one candidate. A healthy nation is a nation with many divisions, not one that is solely united. That is how dictatorships form and all-powerful parties. It's good to have divisions. It's good that some places are predominantly red and others are predominantly blue.

I think that is why some people are calling Obama's movement a cult. The rallies based on powerful speech maker talking about a great unity and huge movement with a lot of young people (who older people consider niave) have usually been scary in the past.

NOW, I'm not insinuating that is what is really happening today, just to venture as to why it makes some people (particularly older individuals) a bit nervous and how the world cult began to form.

After he wraps up the nomination, Obama should really start concentrating on the issues to avoid this picture being painted.

38. Can't your Republican friends count to 6?
Barack 6
Hussein 7
Obama 5

(no, you don't get to subtract one from the 7 and add it to the 5)

And, in fairness....

Hillary 7
Diane 5
Rodham 6

(If she were the antichrist, it would likely be by her birth name, and not the "Clinton" part. But again, the numbers don't add up.)

Now on the other hand, Revelation does mention that there will be a "first beast" and a "second beast", without specifiying which beast the number 666 belongs to, so it could very well be both.

Ronald 6
Wilson 6
Reagan 6

George 6
Walker 6
BushJr 6

41. Ronald Wilson Reagan "666"? Hmmm.
Didn't Reagan recover from a "grievous wound" after the 1981 assassination attempt? Looks like the anti-Christ has already come and gone, and I missed the whole Armageddon thing...

4. I think we need a motivator. This is quite an unhappy nation. We need a reason to believe that
something good can happen, and that the U.S. as we knew it is not over. And we do need the next president to KILL NAFTA, or remove the legs from it, or something.

Maybe WE need to stop the convenient but dismissive pigeon-holing of our fellow citizens and look to a higher purpose.

We are one people, we are one nation, and together we will begin the next great story in American history with three words that will ring from coast to coast, from sea to shining sea ... YES, WE CAN!

9. THere is so much energy in the Democratic Party right now
Having gone to a Hillary rally today that I couldn't even get into in a red state because there were so many people who wanted to see her, you could just tap into the positive energy and excitement of the campaign. I'm sure its that way for the Obama campaign and I think its wonderful that we have two great choices, who are both a departure from a white male and both of these are capable intelligent people.

We should be very happy right now. I've never felt more energized as a Democrat.

Like honest, responsive government, less corporate influence, and a rebuilding of our country's international standing because its somehow "bad" for a majority of us to want the same things......making all of us seem cult like?
