Poll question: Hillary supporters - I have a question for you. |
|
What happens if she drops her candidacy if, God forbid, she doesn't win Texas and Ohio - will you be backing the Democratic nominee, Obama?
The reason I'm asking is because I'm seeing a sudden upswing of Hillary supporters who's refusing to even acknowledge Barack Obama.

5. I know - it must drive you crazy |
|
But we have sudden dearth of (new) Hillary supporters on DU saying otherwise - I just needed to know.
I apologize for it - you and I have known each other for a long time!

To do otherwise is unthinkable.

There were signs that both Democratic camps were growing polarized; only half of the voters said they would be satisfied if either candidate became the nominee. http://politics.nytimes.com/election-guide/2008/results/states/CA.html

6. Maybe a more important question for both sides is... |
|
If your candidate wins, will you be gracious to the supporters of the other candidate? Some people's feelings are so strong, it can be a tremendous disappointment and it's hard to just jump onboard right away. I think patience, understanding, and NO GLOATING (despite the celebrations) or put-downs would all go a long way.

7. I for one would have no desire to gloat... |

I don't want to win for the sake of winning. I honestly think that an Obama nomination would be a disaster for the Democratic party and an Obama presidency would be a disaster for the country. I'm not trying to be snarky, it's just truly the way I feel. If Hillary wins the nomination I will feel relieved, not triumphant.

It'd be like voting for McCain. GROW UP! I am an Obama supporter, but if Hillary is the nominee, I will vote Democratic. I will not "pick up my toys and go home".

I'll vote for Obama.
Then I'll take a long hot shower to wipe away the feelings of guilt and shame.
