I just voted in the Overseas Global Primary!!!

Democrats Abroad is recognized as a state in its own right with 7 delegates (hey that's more than Guam, American Samoa or the Virgin Islands!) and today we got the chance to vote in the first ever Global Primary.

My partner and I moved to Toronto, Canada a little over 18 months ago; we love it here and have no regrets moving to country with gay marriage, socialized medicine and good hockey, but we still believe in the American Experiment, and were thrilled to hear that we could vote (our last state we lived in was Colorado, which had caucuses.)

Toronto was lucky enough to get two voting days (the 5th and 11th) at the Elephant & Castle Pub on King Street. Turnout was quite brisk and the organizers stated that they had more people show up then they expected. We signed our Democrats Abroad declarations, and then they checked our passports and gave us our ballots. I'm glad to say we got to be part of the process.

Thank you to all on here who helped me with my decision on who to vote for; in the end I took your advice and just followed my gut and my heart ;-)

Hope you come out for the next protest at the US Consulate, which I'm assuming will be on or about March 19. Lot of us expats here in Toronto spend a lot of time shivering on University Avenue.:scared:
