Obama's first TV ad is playing in Ohio |
|
Ohio is looking like (with Texas) to either be the states to cement Obama's position as front runner, or curb his momentum with a Hillary victory. Obama just started airing ads in Ohio and this is his first. Per the Buckeye State Blog: http://www.buckeyestateblog.com/obama_hits_ohio_airwaves_heres_the_goods#commentLink to ad: http://my.barackobama.com/page/content/oh_mother_adNotice the reference to the Cleveland Plain Dealer - they endorsed Obama. 1. I like the ad, but I wonder if employment is a more important issue in Ohio |

2. I read in the Ohio blog I referenced that Obama is hitting.... |
|
...at Hillary's strongest suit first - her healthcare plan.
He will go into other points/ads as the state nears March 4th.
He seems to have a good strategical plan, so my guess is the blogger was right.

I hope the Obama campaign keeps trying to kill health care reform, it will get him out of the race that much quicker.

and poisoning the well for any health care reform. Not my kind of candidate. I hope Obama loses his own health care coverage some day in return for screwing it up for others.
Heh, if he starts that up, maybe Sherrod Brown will do some ads for Clinton.

6. My cousin's son had a freak accident the first time he tried out a |
|
skate board. He ended up mangling his leg so badly that amputation was a possibility. Since he couldn't work, he lost his job.
No job, no insurance.
He's sitting home in Youngstown right now with no access to the physical therapy he needs and no way to pay the bills that have piled up so far.
I'd say health care is an issue for at least one family in Ohio!

13. then they should vote for Clinton |
|
Obama has a fatally weak plan. Pretty dishonest of him to exploit the pain and misfortune of others so he can end up selling out real health care reform.

Sorry, but I don't plan to let anyone as ill informed as you kill any chance of having health care reform.
If you're not smart enough to understand how Obama's plan will fail, you have no business voting.

and that is not a right-wing position. And before you insult my intelligence look at which candidate is getting more well-educated voters.

22. 100% valid comparison |
|
With a plan that gives everyone a choice of buying into government health care, its a very valid comparison.
Obama and his supporters are so dishonest when they talk of forcing people to buy private health insurance. Clinton's plan allows everyone (including employers) to buy into programs like Medicare.
Don't worry, we'll keep bringing this point up to educate voters.

23. I see your trying to spin it, but Obamas plan gives everyone the CHOICE of buying gov healthcare too |
|
Hillary's plan requires people to buy one or the other while Obama's plan focuses on cutting costs. And by the way they have health insurance mandates in Massachusetts and guess what many people are still uninsured (about 15%). Hillary still hasn't how she plans to enforce her mandate to avoid this.

17. No because it will become too expensive and fail |
|
as has already been demonstrated with similar plans.
Obama doesn't support real health care reform. If he did, he wouldn't be using false, Harry & Louise talking points to kill chances for passing both Clinton's plan and his own.
Obama doesn't want any health care reform.

Generally, there is support for both candidates. But Obama strikes fear into the republicans here. They don't know how to attack him.
Hillary, however, does generate some antipathy among residents. But she also generates support among people who are liberal and haven't voted before (not the young, however) However, the area is still solidly conservative, though not republican. That's the key. To get Ohio, you have to present an argument as to why a conservative should vote for you.
Bush is hated. Most people are disillusioned, don't like McCain, and are looking for someone to guide them. Obama is looked on as better than Clinton, but still suspiciously.
Hillary, however, is more of a "hold your nose" candidate.
Outside of the cities, Ohio is just as conservative as Idaho. But the cities' population can match the rural areas, so that's ok.
Really though, Obama will win Ohio. I don't know Texas. Penn, I'm not sure.

Let's remember the last time the Clintons tried helath care It was a total failure, and It cost us Congress. We need health care reform to pass.Look my perfernce would be single payer system but Obama and his plan Is more likely to pass.He wants the neogations to be seen In Public. And you can't deny the ad about his mother Is powerful.
While some hillary people may call me a Clinton hater I often defended Bill Clinton during his time In Office(Especilly duirng Whitewater and the Impeachment crisis)
I myself am more to the left than the Clintons or Obama however Obama Is closer to me on the Issues than they are.
