Shuster Apologists, Randi and Ed and DUers who don't get it, still |
|
This is what david shuster said:
DAVID SHUSTER: Bill, there's just something a little bit unseemly to me that Chelsea's out there calling up celebrities, saying support my mom, and she's apparently also calling these super delegates.
BILL PRESS: Hey, she's working for her mom. What's unseemly about that? During the last campaign, the Bush twins were out working for their dad. I think it's great, I think she's grown up in a political family, she's got politics in her blood, she loves her mom, she thinks she'd make a great president --
SHUSTER: But doesn't it seem like Chelsea's sort of being pimped out in some weird sort of way?
What was so "unseemly"?
"pimped out in some sort of weird way"
I can't even believe we are still having this frickin conversation, Shuster was basically saying that Bill and Hillary were whoring out their daughter. It was way out of line to say that.

9. Shuster was hosting Schmucker's show -- not exactly the Nightly News. |
|
I think his comment was inappropriate, but he was in a spot where he was expected to offer his opinion.

22. Yep. I would hate to be a reporter or talk show host. I would slip up badly I know I would |
|
How these reporters can go years without making a mistake and putting their foot in their mouth is amazing! Schuster made one mistake and he apologized for it. Let the poor man have his life back for Christ sake!

It was a very bad choice of words. What Randi and Ed are probably trying to say is that the Clinton response seems to be a bit over the top! Come on, she won't debate on MSNBC but calls for a debate on FOX. You can find many more objectionable comments from Hannity and BillO. There seems to be a bit of political opportunism at work.

11. No that is not what they are saying. they are saying that shuster |
|
does not deserve punishment because pimped out is used in common lexicon today, like pimp my ride.
In no way did Shuster mean "pimped out" the way they mean it pimp my ride.

19. I listened to Ed today and he admitted Schuster was wrong and needed to apologize |
|
which he did, plus he was suspended. At least Ed said that was warranted but why take it any further than that?

18. Well, said. It reminds me of when John Kerry said Cheney's daughter was a lesbian |
|
What David did was a lot worse but just like Cheney they are going to play this out for as much exposure as possible especially since she just lost four states in a row. If they can keep people talking about the David Schuster thing they won't be talking about how Hillary has started to lose contests.
Hey, look over here!!! Look what that bastard did! So then David Schuster, one of the more competent reporters who is totally on our side gets grinded up in the process. :puke:

13. What's even more unbelievable is how Hillary and her supporters continue to pimp this |
|
By continuing to press this issue in a cynical attempt to steer the news cycle away from Obama's victories, Hillary is now doing EXACTLY what Shuster was accusing her of: using her daughter as a pawn to further her presidential ambitions.

23. My initial reaction to it was very negative, but Hillary is turning me around |
|
Her use of this issue as an opportunity to, once again, run for Victim-in-Chief is disgusting. Her actions go a long way toward validating Shuster's assessment if not his particular choice of wording.

17. Shuster: "a little bit unseemly." His remark was worse than |
|
unseemly. They were right to fire Imus; they should fire Shuster.
