Why It Was Smart For Obama To Postpone His Edwards Meeting |
|
The Clinton campaign is about to lose 3 more states tomorrow and they NEED Edwards' endorsement to stave off the bad news coming tomorrow night. An Edwards endorsement of Clinton would have done that. By postponing his meeting with Edwards Obama has played it perfectly because JE will wait to see what the Obama campaign is going to promise him before making any decision. Edwards WILL endorse Clinton-mark it down DUers because he will be offered the moon and stars. The bad news though is the fact that it won't really make any significant difference anyway-John Edwards is a fading star on the horizon-he waited a week too long.

7. It will make a difference, I believe... |

Because a lot of Edwards' former supporters (myself included) will finally have a place to go and a candidate to get behind. Even if Senator Clinton doesn't get win in those states tomorrow, an endorsement from John Edwards would give her a larger percentage of former Edwards voters, which could get her some more delegate.
Edwards is guaranteed a spot in the next administration, whether it's Obama or Clinton winning the election, because he's an honest, well-to-do politician that Middle Class voters and Lower Class voters can identify with better, not to mention the sheer amount of support from Labor. In a Clinton administration, I'd say he'd *ATLEAST* get Attorney General, maybe something more, though I'm not so sure. As for an Obama administration, I could see either Attorney General or Vice President going for him.
