Wow! Just saw clip of Hillary Clinton on NBC news and the CONTEMPT in her voice
shocked me.

She said, "You know my husband didn't win these caucus states like Washington, Nebraska, and Maine."

But it was the WAY she said it. The states rolled off her tongue as if she were spitting out a rotten egg. The tone of contempt was shocking, as if voters in those states are meaningless.

5. Of course she hates those people who would dare, I say dare...
go against the wishes of the all mighty, yet evil, Clinton monarchy...

It's so comforting to know we have a warm, kindly knight in shinning armour to do battle with the evil witch king...

Someone is viewing the world through obama colored glasses...

How about one post, JUST ONE that is positive as to why you support Obama. Surely you can move from attacking Hillary for just a few minutes it would take to do that?

If you find one let me know. No one can seem to stop bashing her. It is all over the media and even progressive radio. They have turned on her and she is one of our own. I used to support him after Edwards left. But I just can not any more. We should be able to support one Dem without cannibalizing another. It is sickening.

32. It is the same posters over & over. I was very conflicted in my vote
and will absolutely support either candidate in the GE. I think there are many many DUers that feel this way. Both have strengths and weaknesses. Some here refuse to see only the strengths in their own candidate and nothing but the weaknesses in their opponent.

Count me out on that score. I see the complexity of the choice, which is why it was so hard to chose.

10. She has got to be pretty shaken up and maybe even a little scared.
I was thinking today what it must be like to believe that you pretty much have a lock on the nomination (which was echoed by the media and conventional wisdom for a long time), and have the rug pulled out from under you again and again.

I'd probably be bitter and too. I'd be hating my rival, right about now.

And as always these days, I must make the disclaimer that I SUPPORT NEITHER CANDIDATE .

19. They way she said it?
You wanted a song and dance? Losing bums you out. She's a competitor and she always competes to win.

You flounder at your heart's desire and then see how perky you act. Geeze, this isn't a vanity exercise; she's running because she believes in mission and her causes.

What the hell do you gain by being snarky? Eventually our candidate is probably going to beat her. Do you want Clinton's people to be bitter about your rotten ass attitude? Quit personalizing it. Be for Obama, not against Clinton. Better yet, be FOR the Democrats, not against half of the Democratic party.

There's only one thing worse than a sore loser... and that's being a sore winner.

I wouldn't say she has a tone of contempt in her voice, but to suggest that these states aren't very important and to note that Bill didn't carry them isn't exactly the way to show respect.

40. I noticed it too
and felt the same way I did when Bill made the comment about Jesse Jackson winning here in SC in 1988.

In both instances, the tone and underlying insidious message was dismissive. Make Obama seem more like Jesse Jackson and thereby diminish him and toss those little pee-on state victories aside and thereby diminish those voters along with Obama's popularity among them.

I loved Bill Clinton since I first heard him speak in 1991 and staunchly defended him ever since BUT this campaign has me rethinking my blind allegiance and wondering if some of the right-wing mud didn't have a morsel of truth of in it.

52. exactly
if she were merely disappointed that she lost those states -- as some of her supporters suggest upthread -- then she could have said simply: we're disappointed in the results but we believe in our message and will move forward.

Instead she got snarky and basically said: Well, my husband lost those states too
and in so doing, implied that they didn't/don't make any difference...

And she did so in that same tone with which she said (so long ago but so well remembered): Well, I guess I could've stayed home and baked cookies...

I was cooking dinner with the TV on in the background and the remark made me stop cold and look up at the screen in disbelief. I'm sure it went over like a lead balloon to those listening in Louisiana, Washington, Nebraska and Maine!

I really admire your passion, and dedication, to your chosen candidate. I wandered into the HRC support forum last night and saw how you've doggedly posted information and items of interest, in spite of very little response from other HRC supporters.

Maybe, instead of fighting all the non-stop Hillary-hate in GDP, HRC supporters should stop in there for real discussion of the issues.

59. But Obama's scorn for Baby Boomer's and John Edwards stance on poverty doesn't bother you at all doe...
it? Talk about a double standard. Not a peep is heard about how the contempt implied when both Barack and Michelle separately state that they would have to "think about voting for the nominee if it wasn't Obama" What about Obama's statements that Hillary's voters would vote for him but that his voters wouldn't vote for her if she were the nominee?

66. The voters in those states don't matter
That's why they have caucuses instead of primaries. The caucus system is specifically designed so that the average joe doesn't get a voice. Which explains to me why those are Obama's targets and why he has spent a record amount on "campaign salaries" that are buried in temp agencies. That is exactly how rethugs have bought caucus wins for decades.

71. I have to admit that i have not given caucuses much thought at all before
the last few months--except nievly to assume they were good.
But having read of the problems and antedotal evidence--i really have to say now that there are serious problems with them.
best.

80. GE picks clips of Hillary looking like a B word. CNN shows clips of McCain looking O-L-D.
It is because GE/NBC is stumping for the Republicans and CNN is stumping for the Democrats.

Do not let the propaganda writers of the TV news influence you.

82. I saw that too, earlier. I think her tone reflects her mentality, which boils down to contempt
for those who would dare to interrupt her coronation. It was quite striking.

84. This is utter BS. I saw the clip and she was talking like she always does
Where is the resident DU hypocrite (not the one who whines about things she does. I am talking about the school marm) in this thread?
