I have to give a lot of credit to the old Clark supporters. |

The more I see the chaos in GD, the more I think about the old days. We dominated this place. We were the sharpest, most prepared, and most united group by far. I think it's because we were looking for similar things in a president, and we were big underdogs.
I see what's going on on DU now and I think about 4 years ago. We were able to convert supporters on a daily basis. This has been much more difficult this time around. The personalities and the themes are different I suppose. Also, there was never a big front runner in 2004. Anyway, that's it for my reminiscing.

2. I was also a Clark supporter and worked to get his name on |

our ballot. I would love to see him in Hillary's cabinet. He is a supporter of hers. I still receive his e-mails.

6. I was familydoctor back then and I totally agree....people |

were more open minded and the criticisms of Clark were more substantial.
Yet, it seemed like people were open to discourse.
Now, it just doesn't fucking matter what is said on either side. For the most part, exposition is dead and hardly no one wants to debate the merits of the candidacies.
It's the same talking points and the same articles recycled.
And if you really go to the heart of the argument in a way that is hard for the opposition to defend it is either ignored or gets the Freep stamp, even if it came from Mother Jones and the Nation.
The cool thing is a lot of the old people that were for Clark are for Obama and a lot of the really smart people that were against Clark are for Obama now too.
To me at least, Obama seems like the thinking DU'ers candidate.
And I could swear some of the Hillary folks here are paid operatives with borglike doggedness. They won't back down from even the stupidest of positions.
The bizarre thing is Clark is in Clinton's camp but to be honest I got disillusioned with him late in the season last time as he proved to be an aweful campaigner and put his faith in some bad people. He's still a good guy and proved to be a big asset for hte Democrats, as we knew he would be.
