I refuse to believe so many people -- especially young people, who I grant are much quicker on the uptake than I am, being so well informed by the Internet their entire lives -- could possibly be so dense and so shallow.

So, from now on, I will take all those "You don't get it, because you're OLD / WHITE / STUPID / whatever" posts for exactly what they are: a really bad joke at the expense of us Hillary supporters.

For your info, I'm older, 52, white, and far from stupid; I'm also voting for Obama. Deal with it. :eyes:

It really says a lot about the perspective of those who say it. I've had it said to me here repeatedly by people I know aren't as old as me.

I get the sense that people who carry generational grudges in their own lives express them here in reinvented fashion. Sometimes I want to just response to them: "I get it. You blew it with your own kids, and now you're projecting your anger at them to all of their generation."

I am very encouraged and confident in the people who have stepped up for Obama and are driving this whole phenomenon. It's their time to step up, and it's our time to let them take over, and help that transition occur.

The point of the thread was that some people who claim to support Obama (whether they do or not is left to the imagination) are posting stuff that makes it appear they just can't be serious ("Is it wrong that I think Obama is Hot?" Which includes a statement that the person bases her vote 97% on the fact that she wants him--sexually). That reflects badly on everyone who supports Obama just as certain "Hillary supporters" ( ahem ) make the rest of us look atrocious.

The OP was intended to prompt serious voters to weed the problem people out. I've been hitting "Alert" liberally and calling out people as well as I can (on both sides). We need to bring the craziness and fighting down here as it's out of control.



For the record I'm in neither the young nor the old group. I'm stuck in the middle but getting pummeled anyway.
