2. Gore. But you know what? I think Obama may be a much stronger candidate. |
|
Truth is, neither Gore nor Kerry were terribly inspiring on the stump. And Hillary aint exactly, either.
Hmmm. Wonder how Gore feels about Hillary?

4. I think Al and Hillary dislike each other intensely |
|
I don't have any inside scoop, but that's the impression I get.

I wasn't sure why I thought that, but yeah, I guess it was mostly that Vanity Fair article. I had forgotten about it specifically, but I guess I "sort of" remembered it.

13. I have to disagree about Kerry stump speeches |
|
I watched everyone that C-SPAN covered and I was inspired every time I heard him.
And seeing ALL the people who came out to hear him was very inspiring. I wept several times watching his rallies.

I like Al Gore a lot, but I find Obama a very attractive candidate.
Guess I'll vote "I don't know."

9. President Gore was my first choice this political cycle. |
|
Had he been in from the beginning, I would have supported him. But that time has passed, and I'm confident that Barack Obama will win the nomination AND the General Election. America lost a great deal when Gore's victory was stolen from him. Who could blame him for not wanting to fight that battle again. It won't happen this time. Look at the record turnouts we are getting. The 'Pukes are not going to DIEBOLD this election, because not even the dumb half of the country would believe it this time.

Gore is a proven loser. He couldn't beat the stupidest man ever to run for the office. There is no reason to believe he could beat someone like McCain.

14. Gore won the 2000 election |
|
Gore got the most votes nationwide and would have easily won Florida if all the votes had been properly registered and counted in line with voter intent.
He did it despite the Lewinsky scandal (Bill Clinton making untrue statements with the intention of misleading his VP, his wife and the American public) and running against a self-proclaimed "compassionate conservative" who was promising "to restore honor and integrity to the office of President".
Bush-Cheney stole the election with a little help from Katherine Harris, Teresa Lapore, Sandra Day O'Connor, among others. The GOP sent its Congressional staffers down to Florida to protest the recount and demand "closure". The corporate media was able to spread the idea that even if Bush did not exactly "win" - then at least "tie goes to the runner" and it was the Republicans "turn" to be in the Whitehouse.
My point is that Gore is NOT a proven "loser".

15. Excuse me but Al Gore did beat the stupidest man that STOLE the (S)election |
|
IIRC, that (S)election was decided by FIVE people.
If Al Gore was such a loser then I guess he has a lot of awards he needs to return.

16. I used to think Gore, but Obama is better with the bully pulpit. |
|
I just think he has that unique something that gets people to listen. I always found Gore interesting and loved his book, but to many people listening to him was difficult. President Obama would listen to Gore's advice and than explain it to the American people in a way that they will listen.

I really like what Obama brings to the table, but I agree with Gore on more policy. I would have to see how the campaign shakes out before deciding which to support.
It would be a win-win either way, though.

Gee, if I wanted to show that Obama wasn't a strong candidate in the race, I would take a popular past front runner that has received huge media attention and add them in WHILE INTENTIONALLY OMITTING Hillary and put some sort of honest hypothetical fluff in front of it...the results would be:
The people that prefer Gore, would vote Gore. The people that prefer Hillary would overwhelmingly vote Gore. The people that prefer Obama would still vote Obama.
If you left Hillary in the race your bias would not be as obvious.
Apologies for being so attackish...cranky mood. --JT
