I just voted for Clinton in Virginia |
|
It took a while for me to make up my mind between the top two contenders, whom I think are very close on all the issues. The thing that persuaded me was Clinton's experience. We are in the midst of two wars, a recession and a housing crisis that continues to worsen. We need someone with the breadth of experience to handle these problems. Although I don't agree with her on all the issues, I do believe that she is the one person who can handle these problems from day one. Obama would understandably need some ramping up that Clinton would not need.
Clinton is tough and knows how to handle the Republican hate machine. I don't believe Obama has faced a fraction of what he's in for from them should he win the nomination.
I had in the past supported Edwards and Kucinich, and even worked to put Kucinich on the ballot. But I wanted my vote to count and I want us to win in November. And I want someone to work quickly to solve the problems created by the Bush presidency.

I would have supported Gore if he had decided to run, but after I knew he wouldn't be entering the race, I pretty much came to the conclusions you did.
I've heard it's as almost as cold in VA today as it is here in NJ. Brrrrr.

(27 degrees in Alexandria) the forcast for the DC area is for a light dusting of snow with more further west. I hope this doesn't keep people from voting.

9. Isn't that horse you're beating dead enough yet? You're pounding the dust now. |

There have been so many posts on DU by very wise and politically savvy members who have thoroughly explained the IWR votes. No wonder some other members have taken to responding with a simple, "SHE VOTED FOR IWR. AWWWK! I'M A PARROT! SHE VOTED FOR IWR. AWWWK!"
You do realize that Edwards admitted his mistake and was immediately seized upon by the ones who continually badger Hillary supporters with this issue. He was nearly tarred and feathered for "pandering". So it's damned if you do and damned if you don't. There is nothing Hillary can say or do at this point what would satisfy you. And you know it. You'd start banging another "Hillary did this!" drum, anyway.
By the way, look at the news. Notice Iran. Notice McCain miraculously being front-runner. Anti-war rhetoric isn't going to help Obama in the GE. But of course, he'll change his tune. He always does, depending on which audience he's playing to.

11. I will match my intellectual ability against yours anytime.... |
|
...no need to be snide and imply my reasons are only superficial and that I am stupid. Why should I again post what we all know: Hillary voted FOR the IWR and has NEVER admitted a mistake or apologized.
