I just voted (Virginia)
I was the 41st Democrat to vote in my precinct-this is my third time voting there and I usually am in the 10's or 20's

Mark Warner wasn't on the ballot  the only voting was on the Presidential Primary.

So I walk into the school's gym and you have to go up to one of two tables side-by-side Democrats or Republicans.

I get to the touch screen receipt less machine and

Hillary Clinton
Just remarkably impressive in every way. Truly inspiring both to women and to see what the feminist movement has dramatically achieved in the last few decades. With a little help from my friends here at DU I have come to better understand her policies on many issues. She is not what I had thought she was but I am just not yet sure. Of course there are the vital elements of experience and electability--she passes both of those with flying colors. As tough and tested as she is at taking and fending off the assault she is also a ready made target for it. The cause and effect if you will. I have told all my friends that they are going to get to meet a completely different person than who they have been convinced through a brutal systematic coordinated effort against her and her family, they may not vote for her but they WILL be impressed. I have NO DOUBT that she would be a fantastic President as she has been just fantastic at everything she has ever done.

Barrack Obama
Starting off where I finished with Hillary-I likewise have NO DOUBT that he would be a fantastic President and not only due to a measurement against the squatter in there now nor to any lesser or greater degree than Hillary. His positions are not that different than Hillary's but it is not fair to simply compare one to the other's measuring stick. With a little help from my friends here at DU I have come to better understand his policies on many issues. Obama is inspiring and transcendent and a remarkable example of how different the Civil Rights movement made this nation. His experience is a non-factor to me. He has about as much as anyone else (aside from McCain) and I judge on aptitude and he has that to spare.

Okay so who to chose.

I read down the list of names and........... I ............ voted ................for .............

Edwards.

F*%k them. All of them. Not Hillary or Barrack but the entire ruling class corporate media buddy system inside the castle walls in DC.

I will have a chance to vote for Hillary or Barrack in the November (and they will win)this was my only chance to vote for John so I took it.

I told my wife that I will work for whomever gets the nomination just like we did for Kerry in 2004. I want to be able to tell my daughter what I did to help make history.

I know I know this is wrong. In my heart of hearts that was the cheap way out

I should have registered a vote for Kucinich.

5. I decided very early this a.m. to vote for Obama..
seeing the massive crowd of screaming kids at University of Maryland yesterday convinced me. This is what we need in this country right now, young people to have hope.

9. You voted for whom you wished to vote for...
that is the American way!

The point is, that even w/a vote of futility, you went out there and did your Civic duty. No one cna fault you for that.

Thank you for going out there, and the #'s of D voters getting out there and voting, is sending a message to bush and the entire neo-con element, that they cannot take this nation down the road to hell any longer...:D

17. There are all sorts of good reasons to vote...
...and voting your conscience is one of them. I might have done the same, or really voted my conscience and thrown away a vote on Kucinich. In the end, I thought it more important to steer the nomination away from Clinton and toward Obama, but I literally shrugged as I cast my vote.

Don't let anyone tell you that you were wrong. It is up to candidates to earn your primary vote (and there are many ways for them to do it); you don't have a duty to vote for one in particular. Even if you did no more than to help give us Attorney General John Edwards, that is a very worthy goal, and one I'd applaud.

21. I'm glad you voted...
but stop calling me "Virginia."

But seriously, I'm going to do the same thing next week in Wisconsin. I'm fine with either Hillary or Barak as the next POTUS, and I'm going to work just as hard for them as as I did for Edwards. But I think the media needs to know that Edwards wasn't just some also-ran.

23. Long lines in Arlington Virginia
One of my relatives got there about 8 am to vote and there were 92 people in front. Noted that it was not because the three machines at the precinct were busy; only one at a time was, as there were three people checking off the names and handing out the colored cards, but they could have used six. It took an hour and a half to vote. Swearing next time to vote absentee.

So if other polling places in Virginia are experiencing similar inprocessing difficulties, find the restroom first! ((I intend to.))

And if voting in the afternoon, be prepared for the chance the lines might stretch outside into the winter weather.

29. i was in and out under 15 minutes.
I'm in the Towson area of Baltimore County, just north of Baltimore City. It was around 11:30 am, mostly retirees, stay-at-home parents, people who worked nearby, and anomalies like me that drag themselves into work late in the morning. Good thing we didn't have long lines ... it was frigid outside! Saw some real pretty snowflake crystals. :)

But I expect it was crowded this morning, and will be this evening, for the before/after work crowd. This neighborhood takes voting very seriously.

30. yes, at noon, an official told me turnout is probably 50%
Usually during primaries he said it's around 20%, based on his 23 years as a volunteer.

27. hey, UP ... thanks
I've been torturing myself over who to vote for: Obama or Clinton?

But your OP planted a seed in my head. I thought about for quite a while, then decided to do the same thing. I voted for John Edwards too, as well as all his delegates. Also cast a vote for one delegate each for Richardson and Biden. Kucinich was on the ballot, but I didn't see any delegates for him or I would have picked them.

We did the right thing. We were presented with a choice and we picked the person we thought was best qualified. Hopefully, there will be just enough votes for Edwards, Biden, Kucinich, and Richardson to send the message that we are NOT HAPPY.

I'm support the Democratic nominee this November. What choice do I have?

I would have thought he would have gotten more than 1% of the vote.
