Norton endorses Barack Obama for president

Feb 11, 2008 10:08 PM (10 hrs ago) AP

WASHINGTON (Map, News) - D.C. Delegate Eleanor Holmes Norton says she's backing Illinois Sen. Barack Obama in Tuesday's Democratic presidential primary.

The city's nonvoting House member says Obama co-sponsored the D.C. voting rights bill, and she believes he'll work to give the district more home rule authority.

Norton says Obama is "straight out of central casting" as the person who's best prepared to lead the country as president.

D.C. Mayor Adrian Fenty has already endorsed Obama.

3. Welcome back babylonsister -- DUers were asking about you
Maybe you should run a thread to tell us all what you did on the break LOL. (I could understand that the nastiness on the board at the height of the primary season can be ... let's just say alienating.

I suppose that as early as March 5, if things go reasonably well for Obama, tensions should reduce ....

4. Thanks, cloudythescribbler! It was a boring ole vacation,
but it was enjoyed in a lot of sunshine, and my beloved NY Giants won the Super Bowl on my birthday, with my twin by my side. So that was awesome! I missed DU, but it was nice to 'get away' even though I did miss Super Duper Tuesday.
