Hillary On The Air In Wisconsin, Citing Paul Krugman

By Eric Kleefeld - February 12, 2008, 8:51AM
Hillary Clinton is on the air in Wisconsin with this standard spot about health care, promoting her as one candidate who will fight for universal health coverage. Notably, the current version of the ad features a quote from none other than Paul Krugman, who has strongly criticized Barack Obama's approach on the issue:

1. Shes on the air, tonight he will be there in person
If she goes negative, thinking thats all she has left (and it may be), this will backfire, I am afraid.

If people were interested in going negative, Obama wouldn't be blowing state after state away, leaving her in the 30-40% dust.

2. Obviously
Krugman is just a dumbass racist who knows nothing of economics. A nerd who never was allowed to be a member of a cult.

He is at the moment being a shill for Hillary, and being quite disingenous!

5. Hey, I'm just trying not to upset the cultists
Krugman was not heaping praise upon Obama, ergo he is an evil, vile human. I know fully well of Krugman's occupation and competence.

8. "Krugman was not heaping praise upon Obama..." BS! Krugman directly insulted Obama supporters
Edited on Tue Feb-12-08 11:14 AM by ProSense
I won’t try for fake evenhandedness here: most of the venom I see is coming from supporters of Mr. Obama, who want their hero or nobody. I’m not the first to point out that the Obama campaign seems dangerously close to becoming a cult of personality. We’ve already had that from the Bush administration — remember Operation Flight Suit? We really don’t want to go there again.

16. And I've had run-ins with Obama-bots too
I agree with Krugman. Some of Obama's supporters are acting like priests of a cult and attack critics of their "god".

14. Krugman critiques Obama's policies, not the man himself
Unlike Obama-bots who attack Krugman personally, the NYT columnist does his job and critiques politicians' policies and statements, not the person. And Krugman has a legitimate problem with Obama's "universal" health care position. What's ironic about Obama's health care plan is that he mandates all children get health care but allows adults to opt out. What's Obama going to do if parents don't sign up their kids for his health care plan -- garnish their wages?
