local coverage of Maryland primaries
I thought I would give DU a link and a snip on coverage of what's going on here in Maryland, I noticed that so much of the coverage
is AP this and CBS that when it's really a local thing. There are also links to an interview with our Senator Barbara Mikulski
and other local politicians.

In Maryland:
Turnout was projected at 40 percent overall, state elections administrator Linda Lamone said early in the afternoon, compared to 27 percent in 2004 and 35 percent in 2000. In the much closer Democratic race, turnout was estimated to reach about 44 percent, compared to 29 percent for Republicans.

Maryland, which moved its primary up three weeks this year, was part of Tuesday's first Potomac Primary, including Virginia and Washington, D.C. Maryland has a total of 99 Democratic delegates, with 70 of them to be decided Tuesday. There are 37 Republican delegates in the state, and all of them were at stake in the primary.

The possibility of foul weather kept some elections officials concerned about a drop in late afternoon turnout. Cold temperatures brought between 1 and 4 inches of snow to western Maryland and flurries to the central part of the state. The National Weather Service said rain was possible later in the day in much of the state, raising the possibility of icy roads.

3. me too, I get the feeling that it is too impersonal on cable
we are not just numbers to be fitted into pie charts and spreadsheets but real people making tough choices.
