Obama Voted Against Giving The Telecoms Immunity
I bring this up because I read on DU he had voted for it, so in the interest of fairness...

“The vote also provided an opportunity to showcase the key differences on national security between presidential candidates, as Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.), voted against immunity for telecoms, and Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), voted to keep immunity in the bill. Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.) did not show up for the vote. All three candidates were in the Washington area for the region's three primaries today.”

1. Notice how that one is being framed. Obama might as well have
put up the white flag.

3. Biden, Kerry, Kennedy, Feingold voted for the people against the telecoms
and more importantly, they stood up for the Constitution!

Where was Hillary?

4. It's Not Over Yet
"Senate passage will set up a contentious conference committee negotiation with the House, which voted against retroactive lawsuit immunity. The Bush administration has warned that it would veto any FISA bill that does not grant immunity."

9. But both bills permit the warrantless wiretap program to continue
According to a magazine (Vanity Fair?) expose, things like massive dragnet of domestic calls/emails
are being redefined narrowly to "an unspecified number of flagged targets linked to overseas targets
of surveillance" by an indefinite chain. Roving wiretaps simply skip around the data already collected,
deciding who to focus on and whose data is irrelevant.

7. I Am Not Going To Assume That
I do know they gave Reid and others a bundle. But I agree with you that where a lot of progressives are concerned, this is a huge deal and she should have shown up.

22. Obama must really want my vote.
Simply on the basis of that one vote I look to the top of the DU page and think 'Go Obama! Get McCain! Beat Clinton to the punch!'.

I'll leave it at that, neither side wants to know more about my basis.

23. Thanks for the heart anonymous!
I appreciate it.

I'll guess that the post above is why I received one. My Primary vote can't be bought (I already voted) and my November vote is (D) and yet I still feel a little like a politician. A few kind words here, a heart kickback there, it's how the game works, right? Now, how do I get a bridge to nowhere...
