Electricity in the air here in Madison when Barack Obama will speak soon

I just got my press pass to videotape the speech and whatever else happens. I feel absolutely blessed to also be literally in the same building as the official staff, who are using an office space that is literally outside my door. The staff is busy setting up the event and you can feel the electricity in the air around town as well.

I gave away a dozen Obama buttons to some people who work at a nearby café where I frequent and sometimes run into John Nichols, who writes for The Nation. Last night, across the street at an Obama fundraiser, he gave a thundering speech supporting Obama as well as a few others. He had been a solid Edwards supporter but now sees that the choice for change is clear.

In a short time, the event will begin. It's going to be a barnstormer. I've never felt or seen the passion for a candidate like Barack Obama before and it is democratic nourishment to know that the possibility of correctly moving finally into the 21st Century is near after these dark times of the Bush administration.

I thought I'd share... let's just say I'm fired up and ready to GO! :hi:

20. Just got back...18,000 in the venue and 3,000 in the overflow conference hall down the street

Let's just say it was electrifying seeing the amazing results on the big screen with CNN reporting and even a Fox News reporter near where I videotaped at one point with his jaw agape as Barack fired away!

The venue fits 17,000 seated people and the floor was crammed with what I'd estimate 1,000 people.

It was exhausting videotaping. I'll put some online very soon.

I posted my pics. Though wasnt the overflow room the practice basketball court? That is where I waited to get onto the floor and there were screens and a stage set up.
