Why is Clinton abandoning Wisconsin and heading straight for Texas?
Is it because there are more delegates in Texas? Is that the idea? There's an entire week before the WI and at least 2 weeks before Texas. What gives?

I gotta admit, I don't get that one either.
I thought she'd do well in WI with a reasonably aggressive campaign.

19. She has to campaign in both states at once because
Texas has early voting, both in person and by mail, that begins in one week.

2. I think she may spend a few days there over the weekend
But if she really thought she would win Wisconsin, she would be there already. Instead, she is sending her surrogates and her daughter.

That tells me she really doesn't think she'll win Wisconsin.

PPP Poll: Obama Holds 11-Point Lead in Wisconsin

by Jonathan Singer, Tue Feb 12, 2008 at 04:20:30 PM EST

Democratic pollster Public Policy Polling (.pdf) of North Carolina has some new numbers out of Wisconsin, a state in which both Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton are running ads and which is viewed as one of Clinton's better chances in the post-2/5, pre-3/4 period, and they look like this:

ALL Dem Ind Men Women
Obama 50 46 63 56 46
Clinton 39 44 25 35 43

A poll from American Research Group earlier this month showed almost the exact opposite results, with Clinton leading in the state by a 50 percent to 41 percent margin, so perhaps this PPP poll is an outlier. Indeed, PPP has ranked fourth from the bottom of the pack in terms of pegging results from earlier contests, differing from the actual margins by an average of 8.11 points. Then again, ARG has actually been a bit worse -- second worse, missing the actual margins by an average 8.50 points -- so who knows. For whatever it's worth, Republican pollster Strategic Vision, which has actually performed a little better than either PPP or ARG so far this cycle (it ranks fifth from the top with an average error of 6.27 points), had Clinton up 36 percent to 29 percent over Obama in mid-December -- but that was a lifetime ago. What's more, one could envision the climate in Wisconsin changing after numbers come in tonight. Nevertheless, this is what we have right now for numbers, so read into them what you will.

8. I'm not questioning it. I'm happy she is not there.
Perhaps Barack can pull off another win before Texas and Ohio. Texas and Ohio will be difficult to win. I just want him to get as close as possible so she will have to split the delegates.

Chelsea stumps for 'mom'
Go ahead — ask Chelsea Clinton anything. She'll probably have the answer. The once and (maybe) future first daughter spoke for nearly an hour today at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse on behalf of her mom, U.S. Sen. Hillary Clinton, and mom's campaign for the Democratic nomination. 1:20 pm

She probably won't win in Wisconsin, and if she does, it will be slight.

She has a 10 polling point lead in Texas that will only get smaller.

Right at this very moment here in La Crosse, WI, I am watching an ad by Obama about healthcare. There is another one he runs about ending the war and hope and I must admit it is an inspiring ad. I have seen both ads very regularly, but none for Clinton. Chelsea was in town today, but that's not exactly mass communications.

Well, let me edit this now. I have just seen my first Clinton ad which was about healthcare also.
But I have seen Obama ads regularly for the past week.

47. I'm talking about mass communication,
getting your message across to thousands each time your ad is shown and not just to hundreds at a meeting tat the university. Ironically, again while making a post while watching American Idol I am seeing the Obama healthcare ad. I wouldn't undervalue the message about healthcare. I know everybody has a story or knows of one. I work with a man who just turned 62 and has to work so he can have healthcare since he lost his savings when his wife had cancer a few years ago.

31. Because her only hope is winning TX OH and Penn by wide margins
narrow wins will mean nothing because of the proportional voting. That is why Obama's 60% victories are having such a big impact. They get the extra delegate in odd numbered congressional district
