Here is the real deal on Super Delegates...
Everyone running for the nomination knew they were out there, knew the process that was in place...

It's not like after everyone was running from state to state, primary to primary and caucus to caucus they didn't know about the super delagates...

For Obama to make a not so veiled threat about problems if the super delegates don't vote his way is, to me, is disconcerting...

It would be like changing the rules of the game in the middle of the Superbowl...

Or the NBA Champioship...

Everyone knew the rules...

Don't get me wrong, if any candidate was bemoaning the fact about super delegates having a say in the process, I would be saying the same thing....

What Obama's people should have been doing is organizing a reform movement like McGovern prior to the 1972 campaign season started...

People getting upset about the super delegates on DU is naive...

You should have known this could happen and either moved toward reform or urged Obama to move toward reform...

Having said all that, if Clinton loses one of the big three left, Ohio, Texas or Pennsylvania, she should throw in the towel...

I really don't care about the margins...

She should just give it up if Obama wins one of those states...

Especially Ohio...

Have at it...

1. I agree on the super delegate deal...
But I'm against Clinton throwing in the towel, just as I was about Edwards doing the same. That's a very personal choice for a candidate in a primary and I don't think any of us sees a big enough picture to make that call. Things are tight in this race. We may not know who the nom is until the convention! And that would be sweet! Like the good ol' days!

But, yeah, crying about the super delegate right now is sooooo childish, for candidates and supporters alike. Waiting until now is just stupid, stupid, stupid.

2. You are probably right about Clinton...
I just feel that she would have lost her supprt among party regulars if she loses any of those states...

We hav been voting in Ohio since February 4th...

In California they were voting since Jan 2nd...

I think if they would have had voting only on election day, Obama may have won California...

6. Speaking as a native Californian...
With friends with fat wallets in high places... Hillary has always had a lot of friends here... some with money and some without.

I would love to see the primaries held all on one day! I've always felt that way. It's really the only way to be sure people are voting their conscience, instead of having a rah rah yay team mentality, which really turns my stomach.

8. We have early voting now here in Ohio...
It use to be just for elderly and disabled or military folks...

But now, anyone can...

3. The problem is that they could overturn the elected delegate total
If that happens then all our votes meant nothing. We may as well have saved a quarter of a billion dollars and just let the big wigs choose for us, like the good old bad old days.

4. I know that...
But we all knew that going in...

Look, Obama has a good chunk of SD's working the undecideds...

It's like a ref blowing a call at the end of a game...

He knew going in...

There were no secrets...

The good thing about SDs is they are not bound by pledges they made back in January...

I imagine several of the early voters in California would have liked their votes back now that the momentum has broken toward Obama...

7. That's the problem, but the point is...
This has always been known, and to cry about it now is just silly.

9. Also, people can't talk of strict adherence to party rules with regards to MI and FL then
turn around and cry foul about the rules allowing for super delegate discretion.
