Poll question: Honest question for both camps.
I cleaned up my ignore list today. Basically cleared it. Now I know why I had it in the first place. But I digress.

I'll admit, that at this point it doesn't look good for my candidate. And that really depresses me. My mom has relied on me to be the cheerleader when things have been down with Hillary. I'm running out of happy things to tell her.

The more shit I read here, the more I'm turned off. Turned off by the complete bitterness and shitty attacks from both side.

I can see why some Obama supporters wouldn't give a flying fuck about Hillary based on what is said here. I can understand that. I'm at the point where I don't give a flying fuck about Obama based on his most vocal supporters here. A big chunk are vile.

So here's my questions.

After the primary ........

and the ultimate goal is to take back the White House in November, beyond all else.

I don't have to like your choice, you don't have to like mine, but we can remain civil, and will continue to do so hopefully long after the primary.

14. Neither is awesome, but either will defeat McCain handily.
That gets at least a faint smile from me. That either will make history in so doing pleases me more.

Then will come the hard realization a year from now that our Democratic president and larger Democratic congressional majorities aren't doing much for America, after all. That's what I'm afraid of--that all our hard work to elect folks who will enable us to do the really hard work will come to little or nothing. That the war will still be dragging on. That the progressive ideas of Kucinich and Edwards will have been completely muzzled. That universal health care will manifest as mandatory servitude to the insurance companies who have preyed on us for so long. That we will remain in bondage to the oil companies, and be fed an ever-narrowing diet of MSM propaganda.

:scared:

One of my fave Stones tune.

Keith Urban and Alisha Keyes tore it UP at Live Earth singing that.

Both of them are very easy on the eyes.

While under no conditions will I want to see McLame in the Whitehouse, my possible vote for Hillary will depend upon what I hear about her plans WRT native rights. So far, what I've heard from her, while positive sounding, appears to be the usual "throw the indians a bone" we are used to hearing. She needs to flesh out her position more to get my vote. With that said, I selected choice #3.

17. I have never always been pleasant to you, and hope you stay
I don't go for the foodfights, and am working with others - in both camps, with some success - to raise the dialog, especially the name calling and more outrageous escalation and outrage contests. Those changes are starting to take hold, and each of us doing our part in that helps build that trend.

Our few exchanges include me complimenting you on your humor, and that was heartfelt.
No matter the final, with me it's all about keeping an upbeat and cohesive base to kick the neocons' asses in November.
NOTHING trumps that.

Edited on Tue Feb-12-08 08:33 PM by TheDonkey
I used to use names like Hillbots and sHillbots but no longer after many of her supporters and probably Freeps started that "cult" meme. It has gone out of control and people need to show more respect. It used to be ironic or sarcastic but now people are taking things personal so I will not use hurtful names either to blanket Hillary supporters. We'll all have to come together to beat the republican filth waiting for us.

The SUPREME COURT is on the line. The future of the world. Heavy stuff.

29. I'm going to try to be less of an ass on this board.
Sometimes I get fired up and spout off.

I know all too well what it feels to be on the losing side. It feels like someone kicked you, hard, in the gut. Like you can't breathe. Not a good feeling.

I don't think either side is evil, nor do I think either candidate is evil. They both have their pros and cons; we fall on either side depending on the perceived weight of the specific issues and qualities that we hold near and dear in a candidate.

32. You know, there are some pretty cool Obama supporters here too...
:hi:

I don't let DU get to me. I like it here, I love reading and posting and think I have a few "friends," but in the real world, I don't base my life or thoughts on what's said on here.

I don't particularly like Clinton, but it's not hatred or disgust. I'd never stoop to use right wing attacks on her. I don't like it when I read Obama supporters being that way towards her. And all this goes vice versa as well. When I see shit like that, I speak up. I told a very vocal Obama supporter on here the other day that her attack on Clinton (and mostly her supporters on here) was pathetic and mean. ;)

BTW, once the nominee is settled, we'll all rally to kick some old McCain ass.

I'd stay the hell away from GD: P. LOL You know that some people will be here gloating or taunting or being flat out nasty. It never fails. One good thing, that the cleaning up today did remove the most prolific spammers. Woo hoo. :)

If the roles were reversed, I'd be very down too. I really want Obama to win. I really think he's by far the best candidate out there. And I know you feel the same about Hillary. :)

Okay, here we go

33. First, don't count out Hil; Second, some threads are worse than others
Some threads are obvious flamebait, over the top, lame threads. Just don't go into those. Some people seem to get off on that, let 'em have their bashing threads.

Second, as an Obama supporter, I feel things are still pretty iffy for him given OH and TX, and PA. She could make a major comeback there.
