I sense a landslide for Obama in November and I hope and pray
that he will understand that the hopes and the dreams of all of us, decent Democrats and Republicans, will rest with him. With the Attorney General refusing to condem torture, with Scalia supporting it, we are so low as a country that he will have his hands full. I pray the he has the strength and the moral compass to get us back on track. If I was Obama tonight I think I would be almost physically sick thinking of the challenge and the burden I am facing.

1. Raven, you make an excellent point. The next president is going to
have to dig us out of a deep hole before we can even move forward.
I am in awe of anyone who would even want that job!

5. I worry about that too
But if anyone can do it, Obama can. I think the quality of his campaign and all the bills he has sponsored reflect the quality of his character.

the strength and the moral compass, I truly believe he does. Thanks for a wonderful, thoughtful post ! :hi:

9. OMG I was on a spiritual basis a Kucinich supporter.
Yet I have NEVER seen such a wave of support as we've seen for Obama.

Yeah, I think and pray about the moral compass thing also.

Sometimes in my darkest hours I think the powers that be just created this disastrous scenario for a Dem to be set up.

Then i get over it and think anything is possible.

Did you see this. . .?

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/william/why-i-recorded-yes-w_b_84655.html

The whole thing is really powerful but this portion I found to be especially succinct and makes a point that I see no one saying elsewhere.

". . ."change for the better"
Inspiration breeds change...

"Positive change"...

no one on this planet is truly experienced to handle the obstacles we face today...
Terror, fear, lies, agendas, politics, money, all the above...
It's all scary...

Martin Luther King didn't have experience to lead...
Kennedy didn't have experience to lead...
Susan B. Anthony...
Nelson Mandela...
Rosa Parks...
Gandhi...
Anne Frank...
and everyone else who has had a hand in molding the freedoms we have and take for granted today...

no one truly has experience to deal with the world today...

they just need "desire, strength, courage ability, and passion" to change...
and to stand for something even when people say it's not possible...

America would not be here "today" if we didn't stand and fight for
change "yesterday"...
Everything we have as a "people" is because of the "people" who fought for
change...
and whoever is the President has to realize we have a lot of changing to do

I'm not trying to convince people to see things how i do...
I produced this song to share my new found inspiration and how I've been moved...
I hope this song will make you feel...
love...
and think...
and be inspired just like the speech inspired me...

that's all..."

May truth prevail over time.

best to you.

McCain wasn't his opponent. But he will beat McCain badly.

14. I agree. A landslide is coming, and it is going to be big.
It is going to be like a Reagan landslide and I'm not kidding. I would have thought it impossible even a year ago but I think it is going to happen.

I just hope to God Obama is up to it and surrounds himself with SMART CAPABLE people, he will need them.

Hillary isn't my favorite person but I hope the Clinton's when the time comes will have SOME dignity and do what is best for the party and not pull any more dirty tricks out to try and win at all costs. That would be horrible for our party.

15. I join you in understanding what a gigantic
job lays ahead for our next president.

We do have our own responsibilities to ensure that the things which matter to us, those things essential to the survival and well being of us all, don't fall by the wayside, or rot in Washington's bureaucracy. I don't expect the future to be easy- I hope the future will be something worth living for. Regardless of who leads us. We need to own our lives.

If the energy and passion of DU are any indication, we sure do have some potential.

peace to you Raven, and to us all~

16. I'm not Obama
and I'M almost physically sick. The higher the expectations, the deeper the hurt when they're not met. I sincerely hope that Obama (or whoever) is up to the task at hand.

17. I remember the 2004 election
So many of us knew Kerry won the election. I'm in Ohio, and we knew it was stolen. The letdown was horrible. It took weeks/months to move on. I guess that's why I'm still undecided.
