Primary nightmare: In idle moments I sometimes think of Larry Flynt

Remember last July when Flynt appeared on Larry King's show to discuss sex scandals in D.C. and it went like this:

FLYNT: We've got good leads. We've got over 300 initially. And they're down to about 30 now which is solid.

KING: When are you going to print?

FLYNT: Well, the last thing now is we don't know if we want to let it to drip, drip, drip or we want to go with everything at once.

KING: You mean you might release 30 names at once?

FLYNT: A good possibility.

KING: Will we be -- I don't want to get into names yet. Will we be shocked?

FLYNT: Yes.

KING: Were you shocked?

FLYNT: I was shocked, especially at one senator but...

KING: One senator especially?

FLYNT: Yes.

What if the senator that would leave us "shocked" is one who's running for president? And what if Flynt waited till the nomination is in place to release what he knows? He has said in the past he would play no favorites when it comes to political parties, and I never heard him specify the gender of the senator in question. Far-fetched, I know, but still I sometimes think "what if..."

1. Now, why would you speculate on such a thing where there's no evidence at all

regarding any particular Senator, let along the current candidates? I just can't imagine why you'd do that. Surely you have no particular reason for raising such a slanderous suggestion, just idle speculation... Right?

9. Hasn't he also said he's really only interested in exposing hypocrites?

That he really doesn't much are what a consenting adult is doing being closed doors as along as they're not setting themselves up as a paragon of virtue and condeming others for engaging in the very behavior the hypocrite is hiding?
