But, by the powers that be, it will not count. Guess all three should have been permitted to buy ads... http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2008/primaries/results/state/#FL

It's like if you sit down to a game of poker among friends with everyone agreeing it is just for fun and then, after you win, you demand cash for your chips. Try that and your friends will laugh you out of the room.

The poker players, those would be the candidates; the democratic voters in the Florida primary, those would be the chips. The players ALL AGREED, including your player HRC, that the game wasn't for cash before they started. The chips were just chips. So after they played the game, and HRC found herself with a big pile of chips (and suddenly strapped for cash) she said "okay, pay up". You can try to spin it as disenfranchisement if you want, but you sound silly. If they wanted their votes to count they should have stayed within the Democratic Party structure. Do you really think HRC would be pushing that issue if she hadn't won Florida or more importantly, didn't need Florida?

Unfortunately, the chips didn't realize that they were pawns in a chess game that didn't matter (or was just for fun.) Joke is on them, I guess!

How could they not realize? Were they idiots? Or just not paying attention? Cause it was in all the papers; on teevee even.

|
If I did not watch tv or read the paper, I would not know it was election day.
People aren't stupid. They knew it was a primary with no power.

I went at lunch today.
Anyway, I've completely lost your point. People who live in a world without a media knew enough to vote but didn't know about the controversy around the primary.
Or something.
What is your point again?

All people were told that the PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARY was on 1/29. Only if you were really paying attention would you realize that only the Republican's votes would count. Actually....that kinda sounds familiar...

I joined DU in November 2004 when I realized that something was very, very, wrong with the election. I was for Senator Kerry since the Spring of 2004(My Dad liked him 2 years before that.)

Obama wins Va. by 278K (so far), HRC wins Florida by 288K. Since she has been adding in the Florida differential into her "I am still ahead in the popular vote," she needs a new schtick.
