El Paso is back woods military city that would fill the Sunbowl for a Blackoak Arkansas reunion |
|
concert. I am a UTEP Miner, and I will tell you that El Paso is mostly military outside the Hispanic community. Retirees and active military at Ft Bliss. I say that to point out that it's surprising that Hillary runs to a Republican city where her Bush lite rhetoric is better received.
Book the Sunbowl ... Obama's coming!

3. First concert I ever saw was BOA |
|
And there is nothing wrong with a city that makes money from military jobs. Here in the area I live in, the Rock Island Arsenal is a huge employer of civilians and they are very good jobs. I'm actually tired of people bashing things I like, such as BOA for instance. And fyi, Clinton has been here many times, Obama is from Illinois, right across the Mississippi River, and we have a progressive person for our Rep. But since we like Neil Diamond, Alan Jackson, WWE events, and stuff like that, we are backwoods hicks as well. I'm just tired of all of it. Glad Obama's coming to your city. He will thrill the good people in El Paso.

8. EP has a Democratic Congressman, mayor and city council. It votes blue. |

Edited on Tue Feb-12-08 11:53 PM by DeepModem Mom
While there is certainly a GOP, conservative element there, and it is powerful, El Paso is a blue city -- one reason being the Hispanic majority. El Paso is not a "Republican city."
On edit -- Did I misunderstand your post? Were you not saying that EP is a GOP city?
