Texas, here we come! Game on...
I have never seen people in Texas so fired up about this primary season. I think for one, we are so tickled-pink that a BUSH isn't running and two, we have something called democracy working in our country right now, no matter which candidate you support and that's pretty darn exciting. It's like the fog is finally, FINALLY lifting!

I don't know what the outcome will be, but I'm so excited actually to be able to have my vote count for something in the primaries. Usually by this time the candidate is set. Not this time...

These are indeed rare, but exciting times!

3. We had a Houston meeting and caucus training seminar tonite
The place was packed. It looked like a mini-Obama rally. Still all-volunteer, although we did get to meet some of the folks from the campaign (they are coming in in force now). Texas is going to shock people.

9. Austin will do well for Obama and
East Texas and part of DFW will go Hillary. With the Hispanic vote flipping now, it's hard to tell.

I just think it's so darn exciting!:bounce:

10. East Texas will surprise
There is a huge African American base there that has been effectively disenfranchised for decades. I sense they will come out in droves.

11. You are so right.
East Texas ...well, let's just say many stories have trickled down the way about things I would never want my children to know.

5. oh, don't you just know it. This is going to be a fun primary for once.
and don't know about your area, but we have lots of candidates who filed to run against previously unopposed Republicans. Mostly for judgeships but that is so encouraging!

I actually saw an Obama bumper sticker on an SUV and I looked over to see a white, middle-aged man sitting in the drivers seat:wtf:

I nearly fainted! It was like being in the Twilight Zone.
I have lived in the south all my life (mainly Louisiana) and I've NEVER seen such support for a black man. Remember when Ron Kirk--Dallas mayor-- ran for US Senator against John Cornyn? I worked for his campaign and there was momentum for him even in those post-911 times, so I think Obama will do well. Austin will definitely be a go.

I think Hillary will do well among older white, conservative Democrats, like my mother who's 87. She's been a Democrat all her life--loves Bill Clinton--but probably won't vote for a black man. That generation is set in their beliefs.

Yes, indeed, exciting times.

...(W)e have something called democracy working in our country right now--no matter which candidate you support--and that's pretty darn exciting...

And the reason why democracy is working is because PEOPLE ARE PARTICIPATING in it--much to the discomfort of both the party leadership and the corporate media, because we're not dependent on them anymore. WE'RE writing the script now!
