Count me as another Edwardian for OBAMA... |
|
Edited on Tue Feb-12-08 11:35 PM by ddeclue
I was a grassroots leader of Edwards Meetup Orlando and a co-captain of OneCorps in Orlando and when Edwards suspended his campaign, I have publicly endorsed OBAMA because I was for Edwards because he wasn't the status quo and he was for change.
Hillary is the candidate of the establishment and the candidate of the lobbyists: drug companies, insurance companies, and defense companies.
I want a candidate of the people, not the lobbyists.
I don't need a candidate of "experience" - Experience is what got us into Vietnam and Watergate and under Bush, experience has given us Iraq, 9/11, and Katrina. Experience is actually a handicap in the job of President in that it hinders a sense of HUMILITY. Nobody has ever really faced exactly the same situation you are facing right now Mr. or (Mrs.) President....
The job of President is more complex and difficult than that of airline pilot or heart surgeon or attorney where the job is much more procedural and controlled. The job is not about "experience" it is about competence, intelligence, humility, and compassion.
The notion that Hillary has "experience" is arrogant in the first place because she is not really significantly more experienced than Obama in the first place. The first time she held elective office of any sort was in 2001 and she's never been an executive of any sort. BILL Clinton was President of the United States. HILLARY was NOT.
I'm sick of arrogance and I'm sick of candidates who can't plainly explain to me why they want to be President and what they will do if elected. Hillary can never give a straight answer to questions like "Do you support a war with Iran?" - her debate answer was "I do not support a RUSH to war with Iran". Well the object of that sentence is RUSH not IRAN.
I'm sick of the arrogance of a candidate who can't simply say she's sorry and that she was wrong to vote for war with Iraq. She weasels her answers about this too but she has never simply said "I'm sorry, I was wrong." John Edwards did. Why can't she?

3. I went from Biden to Edwards to Obama... |

...and Senator Clinton is my senator (I've voted for her 2X, and voted for President Clinton 2X as well). Senator Clinton would make a fine POTUS, but we need a 180˚ sea change in order to save the USA. Senator Obama, IMHO, is the only candidate running that can affect such change.

8. I don't think so. I think Biden would hate to lose his power in the Senate... |
|
Both Dem candidates are strong personalities, and whomever becomes their VP's will likely take a back seat to them. I can't see a guy like Joe Biden doing that.

We are grateful for your decision. I agree with your points especially on the Hillary claim of "experience."
To me her war votes are the true deal breakers. I think they were expedient and show a serious character flaw that I can not endorse.
