Wisconsin GE Poll: McCain 48 Clinton 43, Obama 45 McCain 44 |
|
Remember, in the 2004 election, Wisconsin went to Kerry by just over 10,000 votes. Wisconsin is definitely a swing state. http://www.strategicvision.biz/political/wisconsin_poll_021308.htm

He has a whole week to focus on them.
But how many more of these general election matchups are we going to have to see before people are convinced that Obama is the stronger candidate vs. McCain? (I imagine you're getting several posts telling you that this poll "doesn't matter" as I write this--so I'm being proactive) :)
ETA: Hey, waddaya know?!?!

14. I would just like to see the numbers for OH and FL. |
|
If Kerry or Gore won either one of those states, they would be in the white house. And I don't think Obama is doing well in either one of those states.

18. Great Lake states love Obama |
|
This is also important for the General Election. Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Michigan will require less money and Obama is beating McCain in Iowa. All of that means more money can be put into Ohio.

5. Gore won it by a razor thin margin as well |
|
It's got an odd independent streak. After all, they have Feingold in there who won in '04 by a comfortable margin...yet it also produced Joe McCarthy.
I think McCain will be a great challenge against both of them in the state, but I don't see Hillary actually taking the state in the general election...

8. The 20,000 people who heard Obama speak tonight |
|
should help Obama against McCain.
I liked the phrase McCain Bush Republicans. I liked how Obama praised McCain for his service to the country, but then pointed out McCain's positions that don't help the average person.
But the fall election will be a tough one.

9. What worries me is that Obama does no better than Kerry did vs. Bush here |
|
Even during a great week for Obama, and a not so great week for McCain, who has lost support of his base this week.
Clinton is toast so I'm not analyzing that matchup.
