And quite frankly the oath I want to hear him say goes like this:
"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

I don't pledge "allegiance" to this nation, because I disagree with much of its foreign policy and I'm a foreign-born national, who has U.S. citizenship. But I'm attached to my country of origin and my loyalty is to that country.
I enjoy living here in the U.S. and some of the people I meet regularly, but I don't pledge loyalty to it.

|
I have lost count of how many times I have been sent the email and I always sent the snopes link. I guess I am no better than Obama because I never have put my hand over my heart while singing the national anthem. I didn't know you were supposed to. When I finally read the snopes explanation I said, "dang". The closer it gets to November the more we are going to see it along with some pretty wild stories. The right wing smear machine cares little for the truth.

42. My 70 year old in-laws thought the same thing.. |
|
Why do we like Obama, when he won't say the pledge, took his oath on the koran and he is a muslim?
This is what happens when you give your in-laws a computer and the internet for Christmas a few years ago.
They like Huckabee - so any email they get that is for any other candidate must be true. We debunked all of those rumors - but I think my bible-thumping in laws were actually hoping for it to be true. Pathetic.

44. I've started checking Washington Journal again lately |
|
to see what they all think.
I've heard that he doesn't salute the flag, that he's a Muslim (which means terrorists will influence him), that he's an empty suit, that he's a corporate lawyer (what?), he's got no experience, that he's weak--it goes on and on. A preview of the general election.
Not too many good words about McCain. They seem to prefer Huckabee. One woman voted for Huckabee, but spent her whole time praising Obama--go figure!
